Daan Forest Park Introduction
With an area of 1,250 hectares, this park is truly a manufacturing hub for phytoncide, featuring over 20 species and nearly one million trees, making it the best spot for relaxation of both body and mind. It is a new reforestation site in Ziqi Valley, integrating surrounding agriculture, cultural new town, and community building, blending natural and cultural resources. The park has the longest forest bike trail in Taiwan. On both sides of the visitor center, there are South and North Loop bike paths, and the park has recently started offering bike rental services, allowing visitors to enjoy cycling without bringing their own bikes—a wonderful low-carbon and environmentally friendly experience. Additionally, it is also known as the "Pearl of Grassland"—a paradise for the endemic subspecies of the Taiwan Swallowtail pheasant, attracting many birdwatchers for a delightful birdwatching experience. About 5 kilometers south of the flatland forest, the Dafu community, consisting of Dafeng Village and Dafu Village, is a small but beautiful community. Cyclists can enter from the provincial highway and reach the train station directly, taking a leisurely ride past the community’s colorful mural walls, then cycling along the embankment of the Jianan River, enjoying the greenery of the valley in a refreshing manner, capturing the most beautiful moment of the Valley bike trip.
