Hualien Eco Park Introduction

Hualien Environmental Park is located next to Qilai Nose Lighthouse and the southern section of Qixingtan Beach. It was previously managed by Hualien City Hall and originally served as a garbage landfill that emitted foul odors. After its closure in 1996, the site was transformed into an environmental park, which features a sign explaining the process of this transformation. Today, Hualien Environmental Park not only has returned to nature, offering beautiful views of the ocean and sky, but also takes on the important responsibility of marine and aquatic ecosystem conservation. The sign describes how the local government has implemented various environmental measures, planting a diverse range of trees in the area to help rejuvenate this pristine land. The park, located at the tip of the peninsula adjacent to Qilai Nose Lighthouse, offers a broad view and is the best spot to observe the lighthouse. In the distance, the scenery of Taroko National Park and the Central Mountain Range is magnificent, making it a great place to test out your panoramic camera. Although the surrounding environment appears somewhat barren, it is actually a hidden gem for enjoying the clear blue seas and skies away from large crowds of tourists, attracting many experienced surfers who come to relish Hualien's tranquility and comfort. With a comprehensive guided tour, visitors can better understand the significance and outcomes of current environmental protection and pollution prevention efforts.
