It is a historic section of the Dahan Ancient Trail, which has a history of over 200 years. The Dahan Ancient Trail originated during the Qing Dynasty and served as a tightly woven network linking the Taipei Basin with the Yilan Plain. It was an important mountain route connecting the two areas, historically playing a vital role in the transportation of tea, camphor, and everyday goods along with personnel traffic. - Attraction Features - The Dahan Ancient Trail crosses mountains and seas, linking Keelung, New Taipei City, and Yilan. It is a pathway that traverses history and culture. Walking along the ancient trail not only allows you to feel the footsteps of tea merchants and travelers from a century ago but also enables you to enjoy the scenery of valleys, tea plantations, and mountain forests. The Dahan Ancient Trail is best known for three paths, namely the northern route "Official Road" used for military patrols and document delivery, where one can see relics of early settlers’ agricultural lives and stone-built temples; the central route "Civil Road"; and the southern route "Tea Road," which has a close association with the tea trade.
