Nankang Bird Watching Area Introduction

Nankang Bird Watching Area is a small yet beautiful ecological zone that hosts various migratory birds throughout the year. The tranquil lake often features small water ducks swimming leisurely. Several ponds on the inner side of the embankment were naturally formed from abandoned fish ponds, now serving as resting spots for wildlife after foraging. According to survey records from the Hsinchu Bird Association, this area not only attracts numerous herons, swallows, and finches, but during the transition from autumn to winter, there is also a significant presence of Anserinae species, including northern shovelers, Eurasian teals, and mallards. Additionally, raptors such as ospreys, marsh harriers, peregrine falcons, and red-footed falcons can occasionally be seen.
