National Human Rights Museum, Jingmei White Terror Memorial Park Introduction
The Jingmei Human Rights Memorial Park is located on the southern side of the Xiuliong Bridge at the Xin Dian end. It was originally the Jingmei Military Detention Center, which has been designated as a historical building since 2007 and became one of the two major parks under the National Human Rights Museum in 2018. During the Martial Law period, this site served as a location for the interrogation and detention of military, political, and public security cases, where many political victims were sentenced, marking it as a site of injustice from the White Terror era. The park features a Human Rights Monument, Ren'ai Building, Service Center, Barracks Area, Military Court, First Court, Wang Hsi-Ling Special Zone, Library, and other facilities that convey universal values such as democracy and human rights through permanent exhibitions and educational activities.
