Gongguan Riverside Plaza Introduction

Gongguan Riverside Plaza is a recreational area located near the Xindian River in Taipei City. It is also the source of water supply for Taipei City a century ago and the only section of waterfront that does not have levees. On weekdays, it serves as a space for the public to relax and enjoy riverside views, making it one of the few recreational areas in the city that operates 24 hours a day. In the morning, it sees people engaging in morning exercises, practicing martial arts, running, and cycling, with a bike rental station available for visitors to enjoy cycling along the riverside bike path. In the evenings, there are international food stalls and style bars, and every Friday night, there are free live band performances, making it a rare outdoor bar area in Taipei featuring riverside dining options. On the southern side of the plaza, there is PIPE Live Music, transformed from the city-designated historic site "Hunshui Pump Station." After ten years of planning and operation, it has become one of the few successful cases worldwide of repurposing a pump station historic site into a music performance space, hosting more than 300 music performances each year. It serves as the first stage for many well-known Taiwanese bands and is a place for many young people to learn hardware skills related to lighting and sound. The plaza regularly hosts markets on weekends, focusing on youth cultural and creative products as well as handmade goods, accompanied by live DJ performances. We welcome you to come and enjoy the passion of the market and the feast of music. (Source: Taipei Water Park)
