Taipei Water Park Introduction
The Water Works Park is located to the south of the Taipei Basin, in the hub of the Gongguan business district, covering an area of approximately 20 hectares. Surrounded by mountains and water, it is the source of Taipei's water supply. The park features a water village garden and a fountain garden, providing a happy playground for both children and adults to enjoy water activities. It is also an environmental education facility that emphasizes the theme of "water resource conservation." In addition to the operational Gongguan Water Treatment Plant, the park includes historical structures such as the Taipei Waterworks Pumping Station (Water Museum), which boasts the highest water supply capacity in Taiwan built during the Japanese era, the Guanyin Mountain Reservoir, the water measurement room, and the post-war muddy water pumping station. The park's environmental education center has specially developed water resource teaching plans suitable for different age groups. Additionally, a small Guanyin Mountain, covering about 5 hectares within the park, preserves the native broadleaf forest ecosystem characteristic of low-elevation hills, allowing for ecological exploration courses. Furthermore, nearby attractions such as the Treasure Hill International Arts Village, Hakka Cultural Theme Park, and riverside bicycle paths offer a variety of options.
