National Archives Administration Introduction
The National Archives Administration is located in Linkou District, New Taipei City, and is the first national-level archives building in Taiwan. The facility is a green building that stands 50 meters tall, with 10 floors above ground and 2 underground. The entire area spans 2.56 hectares, preserving the existing secondary forest, blending humanities, architecture, and natural scenery into one. The National Archives Administration combines the collection, application services, research, and exhibition functions of national archives. The storage can preserve up to 100 kilometers of national documents, and the archives contain a rich variety of materials, from land deeds dating back to the Qianlong period in 1734 to modern government documents, serving as a treasure trove of national memory. The facility features permanent exhibitions and special exhibitions, allowing visitors to explore the changes in Taiwanese society through national archives. The National Archives Administration is set to begin trial operations on September 2, 2025, with the official opening on November 22.
