Yanchao Jiguanshan Introduction
Jiguan Mountain, located in Jinshan Village, Yanchao Township, Kaohsiung City, stands more than 200 meters above sea level. Due to the differences in limestone composition, the uneven summit resembles a rooster's comb. The mountain ridge stretches for a kilometer, with a width of only six meters, and its steep and unique shape has made it the most striking landmark in Yanchao. Jiguan Mountain features several trails and wooden hiking paths, with lush forests providing rich ecology along the way. On the rock walls, you can find coral reef geology similar to that of Shoushan, along with various fossilized shells embedded within, vividly illustrating the geological history of the area. The viewing platform offers panoramic views of the fascinating geological features and scenery surrounding Yanchao, which is exceptionally beautiful. The summit of Jiguan Mountain provides a 360-degree vista, showcasing breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. However, the terrain at the top is steep and hazardous; therefore, climbing to the summit requires the use of ropes and should be approached with caution.
