Nei'an Village, Takong Tower Introduction
Since ancient times, the Ta Gong and Ta Po towers, along with the city wall, have protected the residents of Neian Village from the harm of the geographical environment. According to ancestral legends, there are hidden reefs in the waters off Beigang, commonly known as "Hai Lai Jiao," and "Huan Tsai Wei" to the north of the reef, which pointed straight at the Neian settlement like arrows, causing frequent disasters for the villagers. Therefore, the Ta Gong and Ta Po towers were built, along with connecting city walls to ward off evil spirits; at that time, the city walls were almost the same height as the Ta Po. The prominent Lü family in the village, having a pregnant woman, said, "If she gives birth to a baby boy, we will name him Ta to commemorate this." As wished, a baby boy was born, hence the name "Ta", which has been passed down to this day.
