Wai'an Village, Sanxian Pagoda Introduction
The Three Immortals Pagodas of Waian Village are divided into the East and West Pagodas, totaling two locations. The East Pagoda is covered by surrounding silver acacias, while the West Pagoda is situated on a cliff at the western edge of the village, overlooking the entire Waian Village. It is said that the east and west hills of Waian Village face each other, and the ancestors believed that the southern extension of the eastern hill was shorter. According to the belief that males are to the left and females to the right, in the early days when fishing was the main livelihood in Waian Village, males often encountered shipwrecks, deemed to be caused by the geographical environment of the settlement. Following the instructions of the Wang Ye of the Wen Fu Temple, three stone pagodas were built on the east and west hills; the East facing southwest and the West facing north-south. One side extending the mountain represents the prolongation of men's lifespans, while the other aims to shorten women's lifespans, achieving longevity for both genders. The location of the Three Immortals Pagodas is the highest point in Waian Village, offering a panoramic view of its beauty, which gains an extra touch of color during sunset.
