Tide Park Introduction
"Tide Boundary" originally refers to the mixed zone of cold and warm currents, specifically the area where the Kuroshio Current and the Oyashio Current mix in the western Pacific. This area is rich in plankton, attracting migratory fish and becoming a fishing ground, which is a place where fish tend to gather. Tide Boundary Park is located on the eastern side of Badouzih Peninsula, covering an area of about 1 hectare, overlooking Haixiang Bay (also known as Huanfan Big Ao). It was originally a garbage dumping site, but after planning and redevelopment, it has become a popular spot for sea viewing and sightseeing along the northern coast of Keelung. During the spring and summer months, the coastal erosion platform exposed during low tide boasts a diverse and rich natural ecosystem and intertidal organisms, making it an excellent natural classroom for family outings. The park features facilities such as a parking lot, large lawn, fish sculptures, cycling paths, slides, viewing benches, and sand pits, providing a beautiful and tranquil location for the public to walk, converse, admire the sea, and listen to the waves. There is also a display area for mermaid's purse, which becomes a natural outdoor exhibition space during the harvesting season. In addition, various nature-inspired installation artworks made from driftwood and other natural materials convey the importance of conservation, making Tide Boundary Park one of the most popular photo spots in Keelung today. Besides enjoying the beautiful sea views, visitors can closely observe the coastal geology and ecological landscape around Huanzi Ao Bay during the day, as well as enjoy views of Keelung Mountain in the distance. As dusk falls, the lights of Jiufen shimmer like gems, reflecting with the scattered fishing lights on the sea, creating an unmissable spectacular scene.
