Shen'ao Fishing Port Introduction
Shen'ao Fishing Harbor, located in Ruifang District, was formerly known as "Fan'ao". It is situated at Shen'ao Cape and features a vast area, surrounded by many rocky coasts, making it an excellent spot for shore fishing. Renowned for recreational sea fishing throughout Taiwan, it is the fishing harbor with the highest number of fishing boats in the country. Whether heading to the resource-rich waters of Keelung Islet or the Northern Three Islands (Hua Pen Islet, Pengjia Islet, and Mianhua Islet), experienced boat operators can be found at Shen'ao Fishing Harbor. With its unique topography and location, Shen'ao Fishing Harbor has become a sacred place for shore and sea fishing in Taiwan, primarily yielding catches such as small cuttlefish, squid, and whitebait. Numerous popular seafood restaurants have opened near the harbor, attracting many gourmets to indulge in delicious seafood. Chartering a boat allows visitors to enjoy the fun and challenge of sea fishing, while appreciating renowned coastal landscapes and towns like Elephant Trunk Rock, Cape Bihou's warship rock, and Shihjinkou from different angles. In recent years, it has also become a hot spot for marine activities such as Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP). The Sea and Sky Trail, alongside Shen'ao Fishing Harbor, features a 310-meter scenic platform offering a 270-degree panoramic view of the sea, allowing visitors to gaze upon the beautiful scenery of Jiufen Mountain Town and take photos with the playful small cuttlefish installation art. The horizon becomes a hidden gem of Shen'ao. At night, the trail transforms into a beautiful light sculpture, with rich colors forming a wave of light intertwining with fishing lights, reflecting the golden mountain town. The starlight becomes increasingly romantic as the night deepens, allowing one to forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
