Shen'ao Fishing Port Introduction
Shen'ao Fishing Port, located in Ruifang District and formerly known as "Fanzi'ao," is situated at the tip of Shen'ao Cape. It features a vast area, with many rocky coastlines surrounding the port, making it an excellent location for shore fishing. Renowned for recreational sea fishing, it is the fishing port with the highest number of fishing boats in Taiwan. Whether heading to the fish-rich waters of Keelung Islet or the Northern Three Islands (Hua Ping Islet, Pengjia Islet, and Mianhua Islet), seasoned boat operators can be found at Shen'ao Fishing Port. The unique terrain and location of Shen'ao Fishing Port make it a sanctuary for shore and sea fishing in Taiwan, where the catch mainly includes squid, octopus, and white ribbonfish. Several popular seafood restaurants have opened nearby, attracting many food enthusiasts to indulge in fresh seafood. Chartering a boat allows visitors to enjoy the fun and challenge of fishing while appreciating the breathtaking scenery of famous coastal landmarks and towns such as Elephant Trunk Rock, Bitou Cape's Warship Rock, and Shui Jin Jiu from different perspectives. In recent years, it has also become a hotspot for water activities like stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). The Haitian Trail features a 310-meter viewing platform by Shen'ao Fishing Port with a 270-degree wide view of the ocean, offering a distant view of the beautiful Jiu Fen mountain town and opportunities to take photos with the cute squid art installations. The seamless sky and ocean have become a hidden gem in Shen'ao. At night, the trail transforms into a beautiful light sculpture, with rich colors creating waves of light intermingling with fishing lights and the golden mountain town, shining brighter under the stars, making the night more romantic and helping visitors forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
