Shen'ao Fishing Port Introduction
Shen'ao Fishing Port, located in Ruifang District and formerly known as "Fan'ao," is situated at the tip of Shen'ao Cape. It features a spacious harbor area surrounded by rugged coastline, making it a popular spot for rock fishing, known throughout Taiwan for recreational sea fishing. It is the fishing port with the largest number of fishing boats in the country. Whether heading to the fish-rich waters of Keelung Islet or the northern three islands (Hua Pen Islet, Pengjia Islet, and Mianhua Islet), experienced boat captains can be found at Shen'ao Fishing Port. This fishing paradise's unique topography and location have made it a sacred place for rock and sea fishing in Taiwan, focusing on catches such as small squid, cuttlefish, and white pomfret. Several popular seafood restaurants have opened near the fishing port, attracting many food lovers to indulge in fresh seafood. Chartering a boat offers the opportunity to enjoy the fun and challenge of sea fishing while appreciating famous coastal landscapes and towns like Elephant Trunk Rock, Bitou Cape, and Water Golden Nine from different angles. In recent years, it has also become a hot spot for water activities like stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). The Hai Tian Path, a scenic platform built along Shen'ao Fishing Port, stretches 310 meters and provides a 270-degree expansive view of the ocean, allowing visitors to gaze at the beautiful mountain city of Jiufen and take photos with the adorable and lively squid installation art. The path, known as a hidden gem of Shen'ao, transforms into a beautiful light sculpture at night, with rich colors creating light waves that intertwine with fishing lights and the golden mountain city, making the starlit night increasingly romantic and allowing visitors to forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
