Shen Ao Fishing Port Introduction
Located in Ruifang District, the Shen'ao Fishing Port, formerly known as "Fanzi'ao," is situated at the Shen'ao Cape. With its vast area, the port area is surrounded by numerous rocky coastlines, making it an excellent fishing spot, famous for recreational sea fishing throughout Taiwan. It is the fishing port with the highest number of sea fishing boats in the country. Whether heading to the abundant fishing grounds around Keelung Islet or the northern islands (Hua Bin Islet, Pengjia Islet, and Mianhua Islet), one can find experienced boat operators at Shen'ao Fishing Port. The port's unique topography and location make it a holy land for rock fishing and sea fishing in Taiwan, with catches primarily consisting of small squids, cuttlefish, and white ribbonfish. Several popular seafood restaurants have opened near the fishing port, attracting many food lovers to indulge in seafood feasts. Chartering a boat allows you to enjoy the fun and challenge of sea fishing and appreciate the famous landscapes and towns along the Northeast Coast, such as Elephant Trunk Rock, Cape Bitou, and Shuijin Jiu, from different angles. In recent years, it has also become a hotspot for water activities like SUP. The Haitian Trail near Shen'ao Fishing Port features a 310-meter scenic platform offering a 270-degree panoramic view of the ocean, allowing visitors to gaze at the beautiful scenery of the Jiufen mountain town and take photos with the adorable and lively squid art installations. The point where the sea meets the sky has become a hidden gem in Shen'ao. At night, the trail transforms into a beautiful light sculpture, with rich colors forming waves of light, intertwining with fishing lights and reflecting the golden mountain town, creating a sparkling and increasingly romantic atmosphere as the night deepens, allowing one to forget the city's hustle and bustle.
