Shen'ao Fishing Port Introduction
Shen'ao Fishing Port, located in Ruifang District, was formerly known as "Fan'ao." Situated at Shen'ao Cape, it has a vast area with many rocky coastlines surrounding the harbor, making it an excellent location for rock fishing. Renowned for recreational sea fishing across Taiwan, it boasts the highest number of fishing boats in the country. Experienced boat captains can be found at Shen'ao Fishing Port, whether heading to the rich fishing grounds of Keelung Islet or the Northern Three Islands (Hua Ping Islet, Pengjia Islet, and Mianhua Islet). The unique terrain and location of Shen'ao Fishing Port make it a holy ground for rock and sea fishing in Taiwan, with catch mainly consisting of small squid, cuttlefish, and white ribbonfish. Several popular seafood restaurants are located by the fishing port, attracting many food enthusiasts to savor fresh seafood. Charter a boat to enjoy the fun and challenge of sea fishing while appreciating the famous landscapes and towns of the Northeast Coast, such as Elephant Trunk Rock, Cape Bitou, and Shuei Jin Jiu. In recent years, it has also become a hotspot for water activities like stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). The Haotian Trail is built along Shen'ao Fishing Port with a 310-meter scenic platform offering a 270-degree view of the sea. Here, visitors can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Jiu Fen Mountain Town and take photos with the lively squid installation art. The horizon becomes a hidden gem of Shen'ao. At night, the trail transforms into a beautiful light sculpture, with rich colors creating a wave of light that intertwines with fishing lights, reflecting the golden mountain town.
