Located in the urban area of Pingtung City, "Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore" officially opened in 2015. After experiencing the decline of military dependents' villages and being renovated as a historical building, it has now become part of the "Pingtung Victory Star Village Creative Life Park." It has always adhered to the philosophy of "daily knowledge, becoming a forest," aspiring to promote reading like nurturing plants, continuously irrigating and carefully caring for them, hoping that one day they will flourish. It has been diligently operated for nearly a decade. Books are the preservation of knowledge, and reading is the dissemination of culture. Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore is situated in the southern region and has consistently selected books based on the interests of its manager to recommend to the public. The bookstore frequently hosts various activities and lectures, integrating literary reading with music, natural ecology, and plant care, dedicated to transforming the knowledge from books into tangible activities, thereby attracting the public to participate and, through participation, become "readers." We hope that anyone who steps into Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore will have the opportunity to become a "reader" and a "cultural disseminator." Becoming a relay station for cultural preservation and transmission, Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore aspires to be more than just a physical "independent bookstore," but an important platform for cultural preservation and inheritance. There are many independent bookstores in the market; how to find our self-positioning is not only to establish the bookstore brand but also to shoulder the "mission" with profound significance for this land in the next decade of "Little Sun. We are also quite sensitive to the cultural rise and fall of our mother tongue, Taiwanese, which is why we frequently invite writers and musicians who create in Taiwanese for lectures, performances, and sharing during our bookstore operations. Combining the architectural "cultural characteristics" of Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore (which was once a Japanese military dormitory, later a residence for generals during the Nationalist government, and now a bookstore promoting literary reading), love for natural ecology (plants and insects), and literature and music, it creates an atmosphere of "home." Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore connects each event, just like casually walking to the balcony in the afternoon to sit down, having a cup of tea or coffee, opening your favorite book, accompanied by the afternoon sun and the fragrance of grass, the sounds of insects and birds, entering the world of words. We look forward to promoting interesting, lively, and interactive cultural experiences through various exhibitions and co-learning and co-creation activities, which have "temperature." Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore is currently located at No. 1, Qingying Lane, Pingtung Victory Star Village Creative Life Park, preserving the traces of past daily life of its original residents while actively greening the bookstore environment, becoming a small park that showcases ecological maintenance. The Japanese-style old house holds the atmosphere of bygone times, where one can casually sit in a corner of the room, read a beautiful passage, close their eyes and imagine, while distant sounds and cicada chirps fill the ear. The beauty of reading is something to remember, to convey, and to share with you, thus "Little Sun. Daily Planting Bookstore" came into being. The bookstore's name embodies the meaning of "daily knowledge, becoming a forest," indicating that reading is like caring for plants, needing daily sunlight and irrigation.
