Nanzhuang Old Street (Osmanthus Lane) Introduction

Located in Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli County, "Osmanthus Lane" is a small alley on Nanzhuang Old Street, rich in history and infused with strong Hakka cultural vibes. Nanzhuang primarily has three main streets, and Osmanthus Lane is nestled between two of them. Despite not having an actual osmanthus scent, it is named Osmanthus Lane. The alley is about two meters wide, paved with red bricks, and was named after a group of community development workers and women who established the "Osmanthus Lane Workshop" to promote local culture. In the alley, there are many small shops selling various local snacks from Nanzhuang, as well as an old washing pit used by women in the past, a historic post office from the Japanese colonial era, and traditional stores selling beautiful kimonos. A visit to Osmanthus Lane in Nanzhuang on a cool holiday is sure to bring unexpected delights.
