Nanjhuang Old Street (Osmanthus Lane) Introduction
Guohua Lane, located in Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli County, is a small alley on Nanzhuang Old Street, steeped in history and rich in Hakka cultural atmosphere. Nanzhuang mainly has three streets, and Guohua Lane is nestled between two of them. Even without the fragrance of osmanthus, it is named Guohua Lane. The alley is about two meters wide, with red brick walls. In the early days, a group of community builders and women established the "Guohua Lane Workshop" to promote local culture, which is how it got its name. The alley has many small shops selling a variety of Nanzhuang snacks, as well as an old laundry pit used by women in the past, an old post office from the Japanese colonial period, and traditional shops selling beautiful kimonos.
