Fan-Shaped Garage Introduction
The national historic site "Roundhouse" is a precious treasure for the preservation of Taiwan's railway culture. It is the only one of its kind in Taiwan and also serves as a "train-themed hotel." Walking up to the observation deck, you can look down at the entire Roundhouse, where trains slowly rotate around the central 360-degree turntable, which serves as the hub for train access. This is followed by 12 railway tracks that radiate out towards the garage in a semi-circular arc, creating striking radial lines that are very unique. There is also a national treasure-level steam train quietly standing by, allowing travelers to reflect on the historical and cultural journey through time.
Rotary Turntable Locomotive Movement After entering the Changhua Locomotive Depot, you can see the staff busy maintaining and repairing locomotives. The fan-shaped tracks move through the turntable, allowing the locomotives to rotate in and out of the shed, with both electric and steam locomotives parked side by side in the depot.
The steam locomotive, after completing its nostalgic journey, has retired to the Changhua Roundhouse, adding more historical and cultural preservation value to this roundhouse.
