Yiyuan Old House Introduction
The largest ancient residence in Changhua - Matsu Chen Residence (Yiyuan Ancient House) is a national historic site. Matsu Chen Yiyuan Mansion is the largest ancient residence in Changhua and is also one of the famous mansions in Taiwan. It was established in the 26th year of the Daoguang era (1846 AD) when the Chen family became rich from trading along the river and purchased land to build this mansion and estate. A member of the family achieved the degree of the highest honor in the 9th year of the Xianfeng era (1859 AD), and later, several scholars and candidates for the imperial examinations also emerged from the family, making their reputation prominent.
