Zhongliao Fishing Port Introduction
Zhongliao Fishing Port is located to the northwest of Green Island. Established in 1974, it has basic facilities such as a simple dock and breakwater for the fishing rafts of Zhongliao Village. However, due to its susceptibility to drifting sand, maintaining the depth of the navigation channel and anchorage has been challenging. In 1992, funding was allocated to enhance the inner embankment and dock for easier boat access. Although Zhongliao Fishing Port is not large and is not the main transportation port on Green Island, its proximity to the Chahu Conservation Area allows for a rich variety of intertidal marine life in the surrounding area, including diverse marine organisms in tidal pools and channels. Next to the fishing port, there is a large expanse of beautiful green algal reefs, earning it the nickname "Lush Green." It was selected as one of the top ten charming fishing ports in the third edition of such rankings. In addition to diving, visitors can embark on a boat diving trip to explore the underwater beauty, encountering stone corals, soft corals, various coral fish, and invertebrates—an experience that is both stunning and exhilarating! Strolling along the breakwater, with the Pacific Ocean breeze gently blowing, one can pause to gaze at the blue waters while enjoying the warm embrace of the sun. The picturesque scenery of sea and sky before you instantly washes away fatigue, leaving a clear and tranquil mind.
