Zhongliao Fishing Port Introduction
Zhongliao Fishing Port is located in the northwest of Green Island and was constructed in 1974. It features only a simple dock and breakwater facilities, serving as a mooring point for fishing rafts from Zhongliao Village. Due to the influence of drifting sand, maintaining the depth of the channel and mooring area has been challenging. In 1992, funding was allocated to add an inner breakwater and dock to facilitate vessel mooring. Although Zhongliao Fishing Port is small and not the main transportation port for Green Island, its proximity to the Chai Kou Conservation Area allows visitors to observe a rich diversity of intertidal organisms, with numerous species of marine life found among tidal channels and pools. Next to the fishing port, there is a large area of green algal reefs, which are quite beautiful. Zhongliao Fishing Port has earned the nickname "Green Oasis" due to this captivating green algal reef and the beautifully landscaped grassy areas planted by the local government, making it one of the top ten charming fishing ports in its third edition. In addition to diving, visitors can embark on a boat diving trip to explore the underwater scenery, where they can see stony corals, soft corals, various coral fish, and invertebrates—the excitement and amazement are undeniable! Strolling along the breakwater, feeling the gentle Pacific breeze, gazing at the azure waters, and enjoying the warm embrace of the sun, the picturesque beauty of the sea and sky immediately washes away any fatigue, leaving the mind feeling refreshed.
