Sleeping Beauty Rock Introduction
Green Island is an island formed by volcanic activity, where the eastern coast is believed by scholars to have once housed an ancient volcanic crater. In addition to the remnants of volcanic necks, the varying degrees of weathering of the crater walls have created a series of geological landscapes in the surrounding area. From the small Great Wall at Haisanping, one can gaze out at a geological formation in the ocean that resembles a lying pug, known as "Pug Rock," which is famously paired with the nearby Sleeping Beauties Rock, referred to as "Sleeping Beauty and Pug."
