Sunrise at Kui Bi Mountain Introduction
Mount Kui Bi is located on the northern coast of Beiliao Village in Penghu, commonly known as "Turtle Mountain," named for the nearby coastal area that is abundant in turtles. Another explanation is that the mountain's shape, as seen from the sea, resembles a turtle laying on the beach, similar to how Guishan Island is named for its turtle-like shape, leading to the phonetic naming of "Kui Bi Mountain." The "Kui Bi Lian Hui" at Beiliao Kui Bi is one of the eight scenic spots in Penghu. Near the coast of Kui Bi Mountain, small islands like Xiaojishan Island and Dinggou Island surround the area, facing northeast, making it an ideal location for watching the sunrise. Compared to the famous Guoye Sunrise, the sunrise at Beiliao Kui Bi Mountain is enhanced by the backdrop of the islands in the East China Sea, along with Chi Island providing a scenic background. When the sun rises from the dark silhouette of Chi Island, the visual richness of the sunrise here is remarkable. Between Kui Bi Mountain and the uninhabited Chi Island, an S-shaped pebble pathway becomes exposed during low tide, approximately 300 meters long, which is perfect for watching the sunrise. If the tide timing aligns perfectly, it can create a double excitement; during low tide, visitors can also climb Chi Island to enjoy the sunrise. 【Recommended visit duration】 1.5 hours.
The sunrise is rising above Chihyu.
