Correctional School 1921 Introduction
The dormitories at No. 19 and No. 21, Lane 134, Weixin Road, serve as the operation and management center of a public-private partnership and are named "Correctional School 1921 - Old Jail 134 Operation Center." The construction of the old jail in Chiayi coincidentally dates back to 1921. The dormitory complex of the old jail in Chiayi has been transformed into a wooden culture working settlement, which not only replicates the spatial structure and distinctive layout of wooden houses, along with courtyards, lawns, and winding paths, but also employs smart technology for detection and remote control devices to prevent fire disasters and unauthorized intrusions, making it the first old building in Taiwan to incorporate a customized smart disaster prevention system.
