Hsieh Wan-chang Museum Introduction
The Hsiao Wan-chang Museum was established in 2006, expanding upon the "Hsiao Wan-chang Archive" created earlier. It houses a collection of 2,549 artifacts, including medals, artworks, calligraphy, and important documents related to Hsiao Wan-chang's 50 years in public service and his term as Vice President, donated to National Chiayi University for teaching and research purposes, while also serving cultural and artistic functions. Located on the 5th floor of the National Chiayi University Library, the museum covers an area of 116.5 ping. It consists of an entrance hall featuring a sundial that highlights Mr. Hsiao's personal history, showcasing the Order of Cheng-Ching awarded during his Vice Presidency; an exhibition room for artworks and digital resources, designed with a sundial, an aerial view of Chiayi City, and the city's flower, presenting various aspects of Vice President Hsiao's administrative achievements, along with a large touch screen computer and multimedia screening room for interactive presentations of digital museum materials; and a special collection room displaying Dr. Hsiao's press releases, speeches, news clippings, and important meeting records, as well as various honorary degree robes and significant artworks and collectibles.
