Hsieh Wan-chang Memorial Museum Introduction
The Hsiao Wan-chang Museum was established in 2006 as an expansion of the "Hsiao Wan-chang Resource Room" and houses a collection of 2,549 artifacts donated to National Chiayi University, including medals, artworks, calligraphy, and important documents from Hsiao's 50 years of public service and his time as Vice President. The museum serves academic and educational purposes, as well as cultural activities. It is located on the 5th floor of the National Chiayi University Library, covering an area of 116.5 ping (approximately 386 square meters). The museum includes the Entrance Hall, featuring a sundial that reflects Mr. Hsiao's personal life and displays the Chung Cheng Medal awarded during his vice presidency; the Art and Digital Resources Exhibition Room, which incorporates the sundial, aerial views of Chiayi City, and floral designs on the exhibition floor, showcasing the various administrative achievements of Vice President Hsiao's life alongside large touchscreen computers and a multimedia exhibition room for interactive presentations of digitized artifacts; and the Special Collections Room, which displays Dr. Hsiao's press releases, speeches, news clippings, and important meeting records, as well as various honorary academic regalia, significant artworks, and treasured artifacts.
