Hsiao Wan-chang Memorial Museum Introduction
The Hsiao-Wan-Chang Museum was established in 2006 as an expansion of the Hsiao-Wan-Chang Director's Archive. It houses a collection of 2,549 artifacts, including medals, artworks, calligraphy, important documents, and more, reflecting Hsiao's 50 years of public service, including his tenure as Vice President. The collection was donated to National Chiayi University for educational research purposes and also serves cultural and artistic functions. Located on the 5th floor of the National Chiayi University Library, the museum covers an area of 116.5 ping and is divided into several sections: the Entrance Hall features a sundial and displays the Order of Cheng-Cheng awarded during his time as Vice President; the Art and Digital Resources Display Room showcases a sundial, aerial photographs of Chiayi City, and the city's floral designs on the floor, presenting various administrative achievements of Vice President Hsiao's life with large touch screen computers and a multimedia screening room for interacting with the digital museum's materials; the Special Collections Room displays Dr. Hsiao's press releases, speeches, news clippings, and important meeting records, as well as various honorary degree gowns and significant calligraphy and treasured artworks.
