Hsiao Wan-Chang Memorial Museum Introduction
The Hsieh Wan-Chang Museum was established in 2006 as an expansion of the Hsieh Wan-Chang Director's Archive. It houses a collection of 2,549 artifacts, including medals, art pieces, calligraphy, paintings, and important documents from Hsieh's 50 years in public service until his vice presidency, donated to National Chiayi University for educational and research purposes, while also serving an artistic function. It is located on the fifth floor of the National Chiayi University Library, covering an area of 116.5 ping. The museum is divided into an entrance hall featuring a sundial that highlights Mr. Hsieh's personal life and displays the Chung Cheng Medal awarded during his vice presidency; an exhibition room for art and digital resources, with a floor designed using a sundial, aerial photographs of Chiayi City, and the city flower, presenting various aspects of Vice President Hsieh's administrative achievements, along with a large touch screen computer and a multimedia screening room that interactively showcases data from the digital museum; and a special collection room featuring press releases, speeches, news clippings, and important meeting records, as well as various honor degree garments and significant calligraphy and treasured art pieces.
