Hsieh Wan-chang Memorial Museum Introduction
The Hsiao Wan-Chang Museum was established in 2006 as an expansion of the Hsiao Wan-Chang Archives. It houses a collection of 2,549 artifacts, including medals, artworks, calligraphy, important documents, and more, related to Hsiao Wan-Chang's 50 years of public service up to his tenure as Vice President, donated to National Chiayi University for educational and research purposes, while also serving cultural functions. Located on the 5th floor of the National Chiayi University Library, it covers an area of 116.5 ping and is divided into several sections: the entrance hall features a sundial celebrating Mr. Hsiao's life and displays the Chongzheng Medal awarded during his Vice Presidency; the Art and Digital Resource Exhibition Room presents a diverse array of Hsiao's administrative achievements through designs like a sundial, aerial view of Chiayi City, and the city flower on the floor, along with large touch-screen computers and a multimedia room for interactive exhibitions of the museum's digital artifacts; the Special Collections Room showcases Dr. Hsiao's press releases, speeches, news clippings, and important meeting records, as well as various ceremonial garments and significant calligraphy and treasured artworks.
