Twelve Gates Old Cannon Introduction
The mysterious heavyweight ancient cannon relics – These twelve cannons were relocated to this site in 1975. On one of the cannon barrels, the inscription is clearly visible, stating: "In the autumn of the 12th year of the Jiaqing era, authorized by the Fujian and Zhejiang Headquarters, the Governor of Fujian, cast for the Taiwan Naval Left Camp, each weighing one thousand catties." The origin of these ancient cannons is still undocumented; it may be related to Wang De-lu, a naval commander from Chiayi, or they could have originally been positioned at the east, south, and west city gates. The cannons were cast in the 12th year of Jiaqing (1807).
