Twelve Gates Old Cannon Introduction
The Mysterious Heavy Ancient Cannon Ruins – These twelve ancient cannons were relocated to this site in 1975. One of the cannon barrels has clear inscriptions, including: "In the autumn of the twelfth year of Jiaqing, commissioned by the Fujian-Zhejiang headquarters, Minister of Fujian, cast for the Taiwan Naval Force in Zuoying, each weighing one thousand pounds." The origins of these ancient cannons are not documented, and they may be related to Admiral Wang De-lu from Chiayi, or they could have originally been installed at the eastern, southern, and northwestern city gates. Construction Date: Cast in the twelfth year of Jiaqing (1807 AD).
