Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf Introduction
Fisherman's Wharf is located on the right bank of the Tamsui River estuary, formerly known as Tamsui Second Fishing Harbor, and is famous for its sunset views. Unlike traditional fixed piers, this wharf can float up and down with the tides, accommodating 150 fishing boats simultaneously, which is quite spectacular. When visiting Fisherman's Wharf, apart from enjoying the sunset, one must walk across the iconic landmark, Lover's Bridge, take the ferry along the Blue Highway, or stroll along the wooden boardwalk to appreciate the fishing port scenery. You can also climb Lover's Tower for a panoramic view of Tamsui. Walking on Lover's Bridge to watch the sunset and enjoy the night view as you enter Fisherman's Wharf, you will see the famous "Lover's Bridge" from afar. At 165 meters long, this streamlined single-sided cable-stayed bridge spans the harbor area, with its white sail-shaped design catching the eye, connecting the wooden boardwalk and the tourist fishing market. Every evening, a large crowd gathers here to capture the beautiful sight of the sun sinking into the ocean. When night falls, the white bridge surface shines under the lights, adding vibrant colors, making it one of the must-see night views in Tamsui. After crossing Lover's Bridge into the tourist fishing market, travelers can choose fresh catches to be cooked by the vendors, followed by exploring the diverse stores and art street to shop for various creative gifts. The wooden boardwalk along the coast and the riverside cafes are also excellent spots not to miss for couples on a date. Enjoy a 360-degree unbeatable sea view at Lover's Tower (currently under annual maintenance and not in operation). Nearby Fisherman's Wharf, the Fullon Hotel, resembling a giant cruise ship, and the towering rotating observation tower "Lover's Tower" become local landmarks and popular photo spots. At Lover's Tower, you can enjoy a spectacular view at a height of over 100 meters, allowing you to take in Tamsui's misty afternoons, brilliant sunsets, or picturesque nights filled with lights within just a 6-minute ride. At the entrance on the first floor of Lover's Tower stands a large red heart sculpture inscribed with "Love in Tamsui," which lights up splendidly at night, exuding romance. When here, don't forget to take memorable photos with your beloved partner!
