Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (Tamsui Fisher Port) Introduction
Fisherman's Wharf is located on the right bank of the Tamsui River estuary, formerly known as Tamsui Second Fishing Port, famous for its sunset views. Unlike traditional fixed piers, this wharf can float up and down with the tidal changes, accommodating up to 150 fishing boats, making it quite a sight. At Fisherman's Wharf, besides enjoying the sunset, visitors should check out the iconic landmark, Lover's Bridge, take a ferry along the Blue Highway, or stroll along the wooden boardwalk to appreciate the fishing port scenery. You can also climb Lover's Tower for a panoramic view of Tamsui. Walking along Lover's Bridge to admire the sunset and the night view at Fisherman's Wharf, you'll see the famous "Lover's Bridge," which is 165 meters long and features a streamlined single-sided cable-stayed design that spans the harbor area. With its white sail shape, it attracts attention and connects the wooden boardwalk to the tourist fishing market. Every evening, large crowds gather here to capture the beautiful sight of the sunset sinking into the ocean. When night falls, the white bridge glows with colorful lights, making it one of the must-see night views in Tamsui. Shopping, enjoying seafood, and sipping coffee, visitors can cross Lover's Bridge into the tourist fishing market, where they can choose freshly caught seafood and have it prepared by the vendors. The area also features diverse shops and an art street where you can find various creative gifts. The wooden boardwalk along the dock and the waterfront cafes are perfect spots for couples on a date. For an unbeatable 360-degree ocean view, visit Lover's Tower (currently under annual maintenance and not in operation). The nearby Fullon Hotel looks like a giant cruise ship and, along with the towering rotating viewing tower "Lover's Tower," has become a local landmark and popular photo spot. At Lover's Tower, you can enjoy breathtaking views from a height of 100 meters. In just six minutes, you can take in the misty afternoons, brilliant dusks, or the enchanting night scenery of Tamsui. At the entrance on the first floor of Lover's Tower, there is a large red heart sculpture with the words "Love in Tamsui," which lights up with sparkling lights at night, adding to the romance. When you visit here, be sure to take some memorable photos with your loved one!
