Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (Tamsui No. 2 Fishing Port) Introduction
Fisherman's Wharf is located on the right bank of the Tamsui River estuary, formerly known as Tamsui Second Fishing Port, and is renowned for its sunsets. Unlike traditional fixed piers, this wharf can rise and fall with the tides, accommodating up to 150 fishing boats simultaneously, making for a spectacular sight. At Fisherman's Wharf, in addition to enjoying the sunset, visitors should not miss the signature landmark, Lover's Bridge, take the ferry along the Blue Highway, or stroll along the wooden walkway to appreciate the scenery of the fishing port. It is also possible to climb Lover's Tower for a panoramic view of Tamsui. As you walk on Lover's Bridge to watch the sunset and enjoy the night view entering Fisherman's Wharf, you will see the famous “Lover's Bridge” from afar. The bridge, measuring 165 meters in length, features a streamlined single-slope design that spans across the harbor area, with its white sail-like structure catching the eye, connecting the wooden walkway and the tourist fishing market. Every evening, many people gather here to capture the beautiful scene of the sun sinking into the ocean. When night falls, the white surface of the bridge shines under the lights, adding to its colorful appearance, making it one of the must-see night views in Tamsui. Shopping, eating seafood, and drinking coffee, after crossing Lover's Bridge into the tourist fishing market, travelers can choose fresh catches and have them cooked by vendors. They can also explore various shops and artistic streets, shopping for a variety of creative gifts. The wooden walkway along the wharf and the coffee shops by the embankment are perfect spots that couples should not miss on a date. Enjoy a 360-degree unbeatable sea view at Lover's Tower (currently closed for annual maintenance). The nearby Fullon Hotel has an appearance resembling a giant cruise ship and the towering rotating observation tower, "Lover's Tower," both of which have become local landmarks and popular photo spots. At Lover's Tower, visitors can enjoy excellent views from a height of 100 meters, allowing for "360-degree appreciation of the unbeatable sea view of Fisherman's Wharf." A 6-minute ride takes you to take in the misty afternoon, the exquisite dusk, or the beauty of the night when the lights first come on in Tamsui. At the entrance of Lover's Tower on the first floor, there stands a large red heart sculpture that says "Love in Tamsui," which lights up in the evening, adding a romantic touch. When you visit, don't forget to take memorable photos with your loved one!
