Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (Tamsui No. 2 Fishing Harbor) Introduction
Fisherman's Wharf is located on the right bank of the Tamsui River estuary, formerly known as Tamsui Second Fishing Port, and is famous for its beautiful sunsets. Unlike traditional fixed docks, this wharf can float up and down with the tides, accommodating up to 150 fishing boats simultaneously, creating a spectacular scene. When visiting Fisherman's Wharf, aside from enjoying the sunset, you must walk the iconic landmark, Lover's Bridge, take a ferry along the Blue Highway, or stroll along the wooden plank path to appreciate the scenery of the fishing port. You can also ascend Lover's Tower for a panoramic view of Tamsui. Walking on Lover's Bridge to watch the sunset and enjoy the night scenery as you enter Fisherman's Wharf, you'll see the famous "Lover's Bridge" from a distance. The bridge spans 165 meters long with a streamlined single-sided cable-stayed design, featuring a striking white sail shape that connects the wooden plank path and the tourist fish market. Every evening, crowds gather here to capture the beautiful sight of the sun sinking into the ocean. When night falls, the white surface of the bridge illuminated by lights becomes even more vibrant, making it one of Tamsui's must-see night views. Shopping, eating seafood, and having coffee - after crossing Lover's Bridge and entering the tourist fish market, visitors can select freshly caught seafood to be prepared by the vendors. Inside, you'll find a variety of shops and an arts street offering a wide range of creative gifts. The wooden plank path along the dock and the coffee shops by the shore are excellent spots for couples on dates. For a 360-degree panoramic ocean view, you can head to Lover's Tower (currently closed for annual maintenance). The nearby Fullon Hotel Tamsui, resembling a giant cruise ship, alongside the towering rotating observation tower "Lover's Tower," has become a local landmark and a popular photo spot. At Lover's Tower, you can enjoy an unbeatable ocean view from a height of 100 meters in only 6 minutes of riding time, capturing the misty afternoons, brilliant sunsets, or the enchanting night scenes with city lights of Tamsui. At the entrance on the first floor of Lover's Tower, there is a large red heart sculpture that reads "Love in Tamsui," which shines with dazzling lights at night, creating a romantic atmosphere. When you are here, don't forget to take memorable photos with your loved one!
