Lion's Head Mountain Park (Lion's Head Mountain Trail) Introduction
Lion's Head Mountain Park is located on Jinsan Cape at an altitude of about 70 meters. To the east, you can see Yehliu Cape, while to the west lies Huanggang Fishing Port and the mountain and sea scenery of Zhongjiao. It offers a comprehensive view of the "three major wonders of Jinsan Coast": the Candleholder Islets, Huanggang's fishing lights, and the moonlight over Shuiwei. Under long-term military control, Lion's Head Mountain has preserved its ecological resources intact, and in recent years, thanks to successful restoration efforts, visitors can encounter blooming Taiwan lilies or golden spider lilies along the trails in different seasons. Transitioning from a military coastal defense control area to a tourist attraction, it still retains old barracks, bunkers, artillery positions, and its original natural ecology, making it a forest trail with excellent sea views on three sides. The circular trail around Lion's Head Mountain is shaded by trees, providing a cool and smooth pathway that is suitable for family outings. At the entrance, you'll find the smiling and adorable "Maitreya Buddha - A-Fu," so don't forget to take a photo with it. As you venture further in, you can also appreciate the tragic legend of the "Couple Stones." The Candleholder Islets, which resemble two candle holders, offer the best photo opportunities from the viewing platform, where you can take pictures through the steel circular frame. These two sea-eroded stone pillars appear to be a couple gazing at each other, making it a perfect spot for couples to capture memories. Additionally, you can explore the mysterious coast of the North Coast, where you can enjoy tofu rocks and sandstone relics at the sea-eroded platform area.
