Lion's Head Mountain Park Introduction
Lion's Head Mountain, located at Jinshan Cape, offers views of Yehliu Cape to the east and the coastal scenery of Huan-Gang Fishing Port and Zhongjiao to the west. Under long-term military jurisdiction, Lion's Head Mountain has preserved rich ecological resources with diverse forest types. During different seasons, visitors may encounter the beautiful blooming of Taiwan lilies or the golden trumpet flower along the trails. Spring is the best time to see Taiwan lilies, which bloom with elegant and fragrant white flowers on the cliffs, showcasing another aspect of the ecological beauty of Lion's Head Mountain. Furthermore, being a coastal area, the variety of coastal plants is plentiful, including sea mangrove, beach peanut, and swamp bamboo. Around September to October, one can observe the native species, the golden trumpet flower, blooming in the planting area near the Zhongzheng Pavilion on the northern coast, characterized by the saying "flowers without leaves, leaves without flowers." At the end of the trail stands the famous landscape "Candelabra Islets," sculpted by plate tectonics and natural erosion forces; six million years ago, sedimentary rocks were pushed out of the sea and have been shaped by wind, rain, and waves, standing like an art piece in the center of the sea, showcasing stunning geological beauty.
