Shimen Wedding Dress Plaza Introduction
Shimen Wedding Plaza, located in Shimen District, New Taipei City, is the first wedding plaza in Taiwan, officially opened on March 9, 2008. It is situated right in front of the New Shibawang Temple at the 24K mark of County Road 2 in Shimen District. The plaza was developed as a continuation of the enthusiasm from the 2005 "North Coast Wedding Photography" event, aiming to create a regular tourism feature for the North Coast. Over 8 million NTD was invested to transform what was originally an area of corrugated tin stalls into the first wedding plaza, providing a space for tourists to take photos. This emerging hub, known as Happy Shimen, combines fashion, landscape, and leisure, creating a romantic spot specifically for newlyweds. The plaza faces the sea and features Greek-style bell tower walls, Greek columns, floral archways, and blue and white tones, exuding a rich Greek atmosphere. Without leaving Taiwan, people can capture romantic photographs with an exotic flair. The Mediterranean-style architecture, primarily in white tones, along with the pristine bell tower corridor, complements the natural scenery of the North Coast, where the sea and sky blend in a blue canvas, making visitors feel as if they are on the shores of Greece, with an unmistakable romantic ambiance.
