Shimen Wedding Dress Plaza Introduction
Shimen Wedding Plaza, located in the Shimen District of New Taipei City, is the first wedding plaza in Taiwan, officially opened on March 9, 2008. It is situated by the sea in front of the Xin Shibawan Temple at the 24K mark on Provincial Highway 2 in Shimen District. This venue was developed to continue the popularity of the 2005 "North Coast Wedding Photo" event and to create a permanent tourism feature on the North Coast, transforming an area that was originally a collection of tin-shack vendors into the first wedding plaza at a cost of over 8 million NT dollars, providing a place for visitors to take photos. This emerging location, known as Happy Shimen, combines fashion, landscape, and leisure, and is specifically designed as a romantic venue for newlyweds. The plaza faces the sea and features a Greek-inspired clock tower wall, columns, flower trellises, and blue-white color themes, showcasing a rich Greek ambiance. Visitors can capture romantic photos with an exotic flair without leaving Taiwan. With Mediterranean-style architecture primarily in white tones and a pristine clock tower corridor, complemented by the natural scenery of the blue sea and sky of the North Coast, it feels like one is on the coast of Greece, with an atmosphere of romance that is unmistakable.
