Shimen Wedding Plaza Introduction
Shimen Wedding Plaza, located in the Shimen District of New Taipei City, is the first wedding plaza in Taiwan, officially opened on March 9, 2008. Positioned on the seaside in front of the Xinjiyin Temple at 24K on County Highway 2, it was developed to continue the momentum of the "North Coast Wedding Photography" event that started in 2005, transforming the area from a section of corrugated metal vendor stalls into the first wedding plaza at a cost of over NT$8 million, providing a venue for visitors to take photos. This emerging spot, known as Happy Shimen, combines fashion, landscape, and leisure, creating a romantic destination for newlyweds. The plaza faces the sea, featuring walls designed like Greek bell towers, Greek columns, floral arbors, and a blue-and-white color scheme that exemplifies a rich Greek ambiance. Taiwanese couples can capture beautiful exotic-themed photos without traveling abroad. The Mediterranean-style architecture, primarily in white, paired with the pristine bell tower corridor and the harmonious natural scenery of the North Coast, reminiscent of the blue sea and sky, offers a romantic atmosphere that feels as though one is truly situated along the shores of Greece.
