Coal Transportation Bridge Introduction
The transportation of coal from various mining sites to the coal processing plant is carried out using diesel locomotives. The coal transport bridge was originally built as a three-layer iron bridge; however, due to mining demands, it was rebuilt in August 1965 as a steel and concrete arched bridge, officially named "Rui San Bridge." Today, the site retains complete relics for visitors to reflect on the prosperous mining scene of the past. The bridge was renovated in July 2010 to provide a safer way for visitors to cross, with restored old tracks presented to closely resemble the original gauge. Trolleys have also been placed to fully showcase the former mining transportation atmosphere. Additionally, the bridge is illuminated at night, making this landmark a favored choice among photographers in Houtong at night.
