Coal Transport Bridge Introduction
The transportation of coal from various pits to the coal processing plant is done using diesel locomotives. The coal transport bridge was originally built as a three-layer iron bridge, but due to mining needs, it was rebuilt in August 1965 as a steel and concrete arch bridge, officially named "Ruisan Bridge." The site still retains complete remains for visitors to recall the prosperous mining scene of the past. As of July 2010, the coal transport bridge has been renovated for safer passage for tourists. The old tracks have been restored to closely resemble the original gauge, and carts are placed to fully showcase the historical mining transportation. At night, lights are projected onto the bridge, making this landmark one of the choices for nighttime photographers in Houtong.
