Three-Pound Bicycle Path Introduction
The term "San Ge Bang Kong" means "three caves" in Taiwanese, referring to the three railway tunnels (Yuan Shan No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 tunnels) that are connected together, and it is a new cycling path in Houtong. San Ge Bang Kong is located next to the Fuzhu Tunnel, by the banks of the Keelung River. The nearby river area was once known as Zha Zi Pond. Not far across the river is the famous Yuan Shan Zi floodway. Visitors can also see the old Fuan Temple dedicated to the Earth God above the water inlet of the Yuan Shan floodway. Due to its remote location, it feels desolate and carries a sense of history. The stone walls at the tunnel entrance are covered in green moss. The first two tunnels are short and bright, allowing for a leisurely stroll to appreciate the old brick and stonework inside. Between the second and third tunnels, there is a small viewing platform with a place to sit and rest. The third tunnel is longer and curved, making it a great spot to enjoy a cool breeze while cycling along the entire route.
