Tegai Lishi Trading Company Introduction

In earlier years, the depth of the Tamsui River was sufficient to accommodate large ships, making it a very important port area after Tamsui was opened as a trade port. "Dejili Trading Company" was one of the top five trading firms in Tamsui at that time (Deji, Heji, Yiji, Dejili, and Baoshun). Notably, in addition to the typical trading functions of a trading company, shipping was its main business, and it monopolized the shipping routes in Taiwan for thirty years. It witnessed the prosperous development after the opening of Tamsui, including the fact that the ship "Hailong," operated by the "Dejili Trading Company," was used by Dr. Mackay when he arrived in Taiwan. Starting in 2023, it serves as an exhibition space for the Tamsui Historic Site Mini Museum.
