Dégueiliss Trading Company Introduction

In the early years, the depth of the Tamsui River was sufficient to accommodate large vessels, making it a very important port area after Tamsui became an open commercial port. "Degi Li Shipping Company" was one of the top five shipping firms in Tamsui at that time (De Ji, He Ji, Yi Ji, Degi Li, and Bao Shun). Notably, "Degi Li Shipping Company," in addition to its general trading functions, primarily focused on shipping and dominated the Taiwan shipping route for thirty years. It witnessed the flourishing development after Tamsui opened its port, including the fact that it was the "Degi Li Shipping Company" that operated the "Hai Long" ship, which Dr. Mackay took upon his arrival in Taiwan. Starting in 2023, it serves as an exhibition venue for the Tamsui Historic Site Mini Museum.
