Located on East Ring Road in Fengyuan District, this cultural center exudes a strong literary atmosphere and serves as a cultural and recreational hub for Taichung residents. It preserves and maintains many important local cultural assets and hosts various exhibitions of cultural artifacts annually. Guided tours are available to introduce and explain the exhibits, enhancing interaction between the center and the public and fulfilling its social education functions. In recent years, it has also frequently organized a variety of interesting cultural activities. Greater Taichung is expansive, with diverse ethnic groups and a rich cultural heritage, producing numerous artistic talents. The center originated as the "Taichung City Cultural Center" and was established in accordance with the central government's policy to include cultural construction in twelve key projects, with plans to build a cultural center in each county and city initiated at the end of 1978. Construction began in August 1980, and it was completed by the end of December 1982, officially opening on New Year's Day of 1983, ushering Taichung's cultural development into a new realm. Since its establishment, it has promoted local characteristics, advocated local culture, encouraged a reading culture, and helped create a reading society, organized cultural activities to enhance public appreciation, and organized weekend performance activities to provide the public with proper recreational options, while also establishing a volunteer system to expand participation.

Huludun Cultural Center Introduction

Located on East Ring Road in Fengyuan District, it has a strong artistic atmosphere and serves as a cultural and recreational hub for the citizens of Taichung City. The cultural center preserves and maintains many important local cultural assets, organizes various exhibitions of cultural relics annually, and offers guided tours by reservation to introduce the exhibits, fostering interaction between the cultural center and the public while fulfilling its educational functions. In recent years, it has also frequently hosted various interesting cultural events. Greater Taichung is vast, with diverse ethnic groups and rich cultural heritage, producing many artistic talents. This center was formerly known as the "Taichung Municipal Cultural Center," established in response to the central government's policy to include cultural construction as one of the 12 important projects. Cultural centers were set up in every county and city, with planning beginning at the end of 1978, construction started in August 1980, and completed by the end of December 1982, officially opening on New Year's Day 1983, thus ushering in a new era for cultural construction in Taichung City. Since its establishment, it has showcased local characteristics, promoted indigenous culture, advocated for a reading culture, and built a society rich in literary culture, hosting cultural and artistic activities to elevate public appreciation levels, organizing weekend performance plaza activities to provide legitimate recreational opportunities, establishing a volunteer system to broaden participation, and conducting cultural and artistic study activities to cultivate artistic talent. In 1990, a Weaving Craft Museum was established to focus on preserving and researching weaving techniques, organizing weaving exhibitions, rewarding and nurturing weaving talents, holding a national weaving craft award every two years, conducting international exchange activities, and organizing events like the "Asia-Pacific Weaving Art Festival," "Taiwan vs. Okinawa," and "Kimono Donation Exhibition," accumulating capabilities and experience in cultural diplomacy. On December 25, 2010, Taichung City was upgraded to a direct-controlled municipality, and the center was renamed "Huludun Cultural Center" based on the old name of Fengyuan, directly under the jurisdiction of the Taichung City Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau, and it is the most important cultural institution in the mountainous area of Greater Taichung.
