Miaodong Night Market Introduction

The "Ciji Temple" festival attracts a large crowd, and vendors gather as the number of people increases, gradually forming a night market scale over time. Initially, most vendors operated around the "Ciji Temple" and the surrounding plaza. Later, the "Ciji Temple" took the opportunity to expand and planned for the vendors, and the government further enlarged the scale of the snack street, gathering more food businesses to join, thus forming today's "Fengyuan Temple East Night Market." The Fengyuan Temple East Night Market has gained considerable fame online, with many long-established shops located here. The three must-try delicacies are rib noodle soup, pineapple ice, and oyster omelette. The "Qingshui Rib Noodle Shop," which has been in business for over 30 years, is renowned in the night market for its signature dish and best sales. The name "Qingshui" is interesting as it is said to be because the shop's founder lacked water in his destiny; a sign at the entrance reads "For takeout, please wait on the left," and "For dining in, please wait on the right," leaving a deep impression. The "Jinshu Pineapple Ice," with a history of over 70 years, is made using traditional methods, simmering pineapple with sugar for a long time without any artificial sweeteners, which evokes nostalgia. "Zhengzhao Oyster Omelette" is another must-try snack shop, featuring plump oysters paired with water spinach, bean sprouts, and chopped scallions, all drizzled with a rich sauce that includes peanut powder. The variety of snacks from local specialties in Fengyuan to those from all over the province enriches the flavors of the snack street, while the Temple East snacks further boost the business district of Fengyuan District.
