The main venue for sports competitions in Taichung City, the stadium is designed in a circular shape and can accommodate approximately 25,000 spectators. It is equipped with the latest large computer boards and recording facilities, making it the best location for large gatherings and sports events. The stadium frequently hosts major annual events in Taichung, including sports meets, New Year's Eve celebrations, and concerts, and holds many memories for the residents of Taichung. It features various sports facilities, including an athletics track, baseball field, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and a rhythmic gymnastics room. Besides serving the National Taiwan Sport University and the Taichung City Government, it is also open to the public for sports activities during the day, with its beautiful night lighting becoming a distinctive feature near Shuangshi Road in Taichung.

National Taiwan Sport University Sports Facilities Introduction

The athletic field mentioned here was restructured into a provincial sports stadium in 1960, and at that time there were no stands. In 1963, it was renovated to include a standard blue 400-meter track. In 1974, a concrete stand was built, and in 1976, the Area Sports Games were held there. Night lighting was installed in 1991, and with government subsidies, it underwent continuous renovations, greening, and beautification. In 2004, it was renamed the Taichung University of Sport Athletic Field. The athletic field covers an area of 122,264 square meters and can accommodate 25,000 people. It is recommended that friends traveling from afar to participate in events park their cars in the parking lots on Sanmin Road or Yizhong Street and walk to the Taiwan University of Sport Athletic Venue; those using public transportation can get off at the Taichung Sports Stadium stop to reach the location.
