The main venue for sports and competitions in Taichung City features a circular stadium that can accommodate approximately 25,000 spectators. It is equipped with the latest large computer screens and recording equipment, making it an ideal location for large gatherings and sporting events. The stadium often hosts significant annual events in Taichung, including sports meets, New Year's Eve celebrations, and concerts, serving as a cherished memory for many Taichung residents. It includes facilities such as a track and field area, baseball field, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and rhythmic gymnastics room. In addition to being utilized by National Taiwan Sport University and Taichung City Government, it also provides opportunities for public sports activities. The beautiful night lighting has become a characteristic of the area near Shuangshi Road in Taichung.

National Taiwan Sport University Sports Facilities Introduction

The athletic field mentioned here was transformed into a provincial sports stadium in 1960, and at that time, there were no grandstands. In 1963, it was renovated to feature a standard 400-meter blue track, and in 1974, a cement grandstand was built. The regional sports meet was held in 1976, and in 1991, night lighting was installed. With government subsidies, it has been continuously renovated, greened, and beautified. It was later renamed the Taichung University of Sport Stadium in 2004. The athletic field covers an area of 122,264 square meters and can accommodate 25,000 people. There are no large parking lots nearby, so it is suggested that visitors coming from afar park their cars in the parking lots on Sanmin Road or Yichung Street and walk to the Taiwan University of Sport stadium. Those taking the bus can get off at the Taichung stadium stop to reach their destination.
