Taichung City Changongguan - Bulao Dream 125號 Introduction
Bulao Dream No. 125, the former residence of the Miyahara family, was completed in 1929 (Showa 4) by Dr. Takeo Miyahara, an ophthalmologist. In 1945, after the Japanese were repatriated, the property was taken over by the Taichung City Government and used as the mayor's residence. In 2016, in response to Taichung's elderly care policies and to revitalize historical buildings, the Hongdao Elderly Welfare Foundation created "Bulao Dream No. 125" with the planning concept of "Silver Hair and Creative Participation." This initiative conveys the spirit of longevity in dreams, actions, and heart through various elderly dreams, real-life elder librarians, and food that combines old wisdom with new creativity. The "Bulao Dream Exhibition" poses the question: How much courage do you have to dream when you are eighty? In fact, dreaming is a kind of attitude, regardless of age! The first floor of the exhibition hall features a "Permanent Exhibition of Bulao Dreams" and a "Real-Life Library," showing through real stories the astonishing dreams and the power of elderly dream fulfillment. Meeting an elder is like opening a new world, reading a book that expands your horizons and you are invited to borrow "Bulao Real-Life Library"! The second floor's "Dream Special Zone" regularly hosts various special exhibitions and events. ♥ Group visits are welcome for scheduled tours, free exhibitions, guided tours on weekends, and venue rentals. The "Dream Garden" at Bulao Dream No. 125 features a spacious courtyard that regularly hosts various events and charity markets. The garden transforms into an edible landscape where elders plant and harvest different plants each season, facilitating interaction with younger generations and creating a green urban farming corner in the old city area of Taichung. ♥ Venue rentals and participation in the 125 Dream Market activities are welcomed. "Bulao Kitchen X Bulao Cooks/Servants" goes beyond cinema as it creates employment opportunities for the elderly, hiring them to become Bulao cooks and servitors, with the oldest already being "grandparent-level"! They love sharing ancient flavors while also learning new skills like ordering with an iPad. Come and experience the passion of ageless vitality through silver hair employment. ♥ Reservations for dining, afternoon tea, group bookings, and private menus for 10 or more are welcome. "Slow Food Leisure - Xianjiao Broadway Set" presents old memories and new tastes. It offers a fragrant minced meat stir-fry made with a perfect mix of fat and lean meat, paired with freshly ground rice milk, melded with pumpkin, spinach, red yeast rice or purple sweet potato, transforming into bowls of natural colored rice cakes resembling both rice pudding and macarons, combined into a fashionable Bulao salad meal set with minced meat rice. The "125°C Care Corner," supported by the Taichung City Government’s Health Bureau’s "Community Care System A-Level Unit Project" in 2018, begins promoting the "125°C Care Corner," providing long-term care service consultations to ensure these services are accessible and useful. It also offers continuous companionship and care services, blending various aesthetic leisurely living spaces, and regularly organizes community care activities, seminars, and small gatherings for different service recipients. It serves as a resource and communication platform for professional care service providers in the region.
