Changhua District, Taichung City 125, Bulao Dream Introduction
Bulao Dream No. 125, the historical residence of Miyahara's family, was completed in 1929 (Showa 4) by Dr. Miyahara Takekuma. In 1945, it was taken over by the Taichung City Government to be used as the mayor's residence after the Japanese were repatriated. In 2016, the Hongdao Elderly Welfare Foundation revitalized the historical building in line with Taichung's elderly care policy, designing it as "Bulao Dream No. 125" with the concept of "Silver Creativity Participation" for the elderly and cultural innovation. Through various dreams, real elderly storytellers, and dishes that blend old wisdom with new creativity, it conveys the spirit of "ageless heart, ageless dreams, and ageless actions." The "Bulao Dream Exhibition" poses the question, how much courage do you have to dream when you're eighty? In fact, dreams are a posture that has nothing to do with age! The first floor of the exhibition hall features a "Bulao Dream Permanent Exhibition" and "Real Human Library," presenting real stories that showcase the amazing dreams and ageless potential of the elderly. Meeting an elder is like opening up a world and reading a book, broadening your perspective and making you welcome to borrow from the "Bulao Real Human Library"! The second floor's "Dream Zone" regularly hosts various dream special exhibitions and events. ♥ Group bookings for tours are welcome; free entry/regular guided tours on weekends/venue rental available. The "Dream Garden" of Bulao Dream No. 125 is a spacious courtyard that occasionally hosts various events and charity markets. The flower beds transform into edible landscapes, allowing the elderly to plant and harvest different crops each season, fostering interaction with the younger generation and creating a green urban agricultural corner in Taichung's old city area. ♥ Venue rental for groups and participation in the 125 Dream Market activities are welcome. "Bulao Food Court X Bulao Chefs/Servers" - Senior interns are not just in the movies; Bulao Food Court directly creates employment opportunities for the elderly, hiring seniors as Bulao chefs and servers, with the oldest being a "grandparent" level! They love sharing traditional flavors and learning new skills like ordering via iPad, inviting you to experience the ageless enthusiasm and see the vibrant energy in elderly employment. ♥ Reservations for dates, gatherings, afternoon teas, pre-bookings, and group bookings for special menus are welcome for parties of ten or more. "Slow Food Leisure - Xianjiao Broadway Set" brings nostalgic memories and new flavors. Perfect proportions of meat stir-fried to aromatic perfection served with freshly ground indigenous rice milk, combined with pumpkin, spinach, red yeast rice, or purple sweet potato, transformed into bowls resembling rice pudding and macarons in handmade bamboo steamers, creating the Bulao fashionable dish set with meat sauce rice salad, garnished with fresh produce from the garden. The Taichung City Government Health Bureau's "Community Comprehensive Care System A-Level Unit Program" subsidized the launch of "125°C Care Corner," providing long-term care service consultations, ensuring accessibility and continuous care. It serves as a diverse aesthetic recreational space, regularly conducting care community activities, lectures, and gatherings for different service recipients, acting as a professional resource connection platform in the region.
