The Daken No. 1 Hiking Trail is the northernmost hiking trail of Mount Touqian. The first half of the trail mostly consists of a mix of stone slabs and concrete paths, meandering through the lush forest, providing shade from the sun. The elevation ranges from 433 to 705 meters, making it a suitable training ground for family outings, group competitions, and individual fitness activities, combined with the flavors of the countryside and unique terrain features. In addition, during the transition from spring to summer, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the tung blossom season, with fallen petals scattered everywhere.

Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure spot for residents of Taichung City, serving as a place for both relaxation and fitness for hikers. It is also a popular tourist attraction in central Taiwan. On regular days or holidays, you can see groups of friends and families enjoying their time together, making it a shared backyard for the people of Taichung. The area is characterized by its 14 hiking trails, with trails 1 to 8 opened in the early 1980s, designed according to the natural terrain where Dakeng Mountain and streams intersect, with the highest peak being Touke Mountain at an elevation of 859 meters. Trail 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail 1 is approximately 1.6 kilometers long, and parts of the wooden plank trail are categorized as a higher intensity hiking trail, so please assess your physical condition before heading up. Trailhead: Turn right from Dongshan Road onto Zhuoshui Lane, and you can reach it in about 6 kilometers. Features: This trail is located in a forest area, winding through orchards and bamboo groves, crossing two valleys. The moist climate conditions provide a habitat for various ferns and diverse natural ecological resources. Transportation Methods:Taichung Bus (Taichung Station 04-22224102): Routes 15 and 16 (boarding at Luyuan East Station) can also reach Chung Tai University; additionally, you can take the Taichung Bus Route 66 at the Jingbuku Parking Lot at the intersection of Dongshan Road and Songzhu Road (Route 66 loops within Dakeng). 2. Renyou Bus (04-22255166): Routes 1, 20, 21, 31 (boarding at Luyuan East Station, it is recommended to take Renyou as they have more buses). 3. Remarks:1. It is recommended that elderly individuals and those with hypertension refrain from climbing Dakeng Trails No. 1 to 5 and Trail No. 5-1. 2. The Dakeng Trail No. 4 has a significant elevation change, including a 300-meter vertical steep slope. 3.
