Trail No. 3 has an elevation ranging from 415 to 795 meters, mostly following the ridge line. This trail offers expansive views, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of seasonal changes among the mountains and observe various wildlife, including birds and red-bellied squirrels, making it particularly suitable for birdwatching enthusiasts. Visitors are advised to bring sunscreen to ensure a comfortable walking experience. The trail takes approximately 2 hours to complete and can be connected with Trail No. 5 at the end, perfectly concluding this nature journey.

Dakeng No. 3 Trail Introduction

Dakeng Scenic Area – Mountain Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure spot for Taichung citizens to find solace, a place for hikers to enjoy the outdoors and exercise, and a popular tourist destination in Central Taiwan. On regular days or holidays, it is common to see groups of friends and families enjoying the scenery together, making it a shared garden for the people of Taichung. Its most distinctive feature is the 14 mountain trails. Trails No. 1 to No. 8 were opened in 1981, constructed according to the natural terrain where Dakeng Mountain intersects with streams, with the highest point being Toukeng Mountain at an elevation of 859 meters. Trail No. 9 was developed in December 2005, and Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008. Trail No. 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail No. 3 has a length of approximately 1.3 kilometers and is suitable for ecological education. Trailhead: From the Dakeng roundabout, turn right into Hengkeng Lane, then turn left into Liankeng Lane, and walk up past the parking lot to reach the trailhead. Features: This trail is rich in natural ecological education resources, including various species of birds, plants, animals, and insects, with various plant information signs along the way to help the public learn and understand. Transportation Methods:Taichung Bus (Taichung Station 04-22224102): Routes 15, 16 (boarding at Lüse River East Station) can also reach Chung Tai University; additionally, at the intersection of Dongshan Road and Songzhu Road, you can take Taichung Bus Route 66 (Route 66 makes a loop in Dahu) 2. Renyou Bus (04-22255166): Routes 1, 20, 21, 31 (boarding at Lüse River East Station, it is recommended to take Renyou as it has more buses) 3. Fengyuan Bus (Taichung North Station 04-22223435): bus routes towards Zhongxingling, Xinshe, Dongshi, etc.


Remarks:1. It is recommended that the elderly and those with hypertension avoid climbing the Dakeng No. 1 to No. 5 and No. 5-1 trails. 2. The Dakeng No. 4 trail has a significant elevation change, with a 300-meter vertical steep slope. 3. Generally speaking, the Dakeng No. 6, 7, 8, 9, and No. 9-1 trails are more suitable for both men and women...
