Dakeng No. 3 Trail (Closed) Introduction
Due to the heavy rain brought by Typhoon Danas and the southwest airflow on July 28 this year, post-disaster reconstruction work will take place. To avoid danger, this hiking trail has been closed, and we kindly ask the public to refrain from visiting during the renovation period. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Overview Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational space for the residents of Taichung City, as well as a place for hikers to enjoy fitness activities, making it a popular tourist destination in the central region. Whether on regular days or holidays, it is common to see enthusiasts and families visiting together, making it a shared backyard for the residents of Taichung City. The area features 14 hiking trails, with Trails No. 1 to 8 opened in 1981, constructed based on the natural terrain of Dakeng Mountain and its streams, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Toukeng Mountain. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was completed in November 2013. Trail No. 3 is approximately 1.3 kilometers long and is suitable for ecological education. Trailhead: You can turn right at the Dakeng Roundabout onto Hengkeng Lane, then left onto Liankeng Lane, and continue upwards past the parking lot to reach the trailhead. Features: This trail is rich in natural ecological education resources, including various species of birds, plants, animals, and insects. Along the way, there are various plant interpretation signs to help the public understand and learn about them.
