Dakeng No. 3 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational space for the people of Taichung City to find spiritual solace, and it is also a popular destination for hikers seeking exercise and connection with nature. It has become a popular tourist destination in central Taiwan, where one can often see friends and families enjoying their time together, making it a shared backyard for the residents of Taichung. The area features 13 hiking trails, with Trails 1 to 8 established since 1981, designed to complement the natural terrain of the Dakeng Mountains and streams, reaching a highest elevation of 859 meters at Touko Mountain. Trail 9 was developed in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail 3 is approximately 1.3 kilometers long and is suitable for ecological education. The trailhead can be reached by turning right at the Dakeng Roundabout into Hengkeng Lane, then taking a left onto Lienkeng Lane, and walking upwards from the parking lot to reach the starting point. Features: This trail offers rich educational resources in natural ecology, including various species of birds, plants, animals, and insects, along with informational signs about the plants to help the public learn and understand.
