Dakeng No. 3 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure place for the people of Taichung to find peace of mind, a destination for hikers to exercise in nature, and a popular tourist spot in central Taiwan. On regular days or holidays, it is common to see friends and families enjoying their time together, making it a shared backyard for the citizens of Taichung. The most distinctive feature of the area is its 14 hiking trails. Trails 1 to 8 were opened in the early 1980s and were constructed based on the natural terrain formed by the intersection of Dakeng Mountain and streams, with the highest peak being Tou Ke Mountain at an elevation of 859 meters. Trail 9 was developed in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail 3 has a length of approximately 1.3 kilometers and is suitable for ecological education. The trailhead can be accessed by turning right onto Heng Keng Alley from Dakeng Roundabout, then turning left onto Lian Keng Alley and walking up past the parking lot to reach the trailhead. Features: This trail is rich in natural ecological educational resources, including various species of birds, plants, animals, and insects. There are also various plant information signs along the way to help the public learn and understand.
