The Taichung City Artists' Archive is located on the north side of the second floor of the Art Center Exhibition Hall in the Harbor District, with a space area of about 340 square meters. It was initiated in 1999 and officially opened in 2001. Through the collection and documentation of artworks, audiovisual materials, and literature from both senior and contemporary artists in Taiwan, the archive aims to become a cultural base that records the history of art development in Greater Taichung. For over 20 years, the Artists' Archive has continuously collected and displayed relevant information and materials about artists from Greater Taichung, fostering public awareness of the development of art in the area, as well as the relationships, artistic careers, and achievements of the artists. Starting in 2020, the main space of the archive has been transformed into a children's art education space, with new areas established as follows: Art Treasury: This area primarily houses books related to art. Since 2020, it has incorporated the "Mobile Artists' Archive" project (now renamed the "Art PaPaGO!" project) to offer art experience courses, aiming to cultivate children's appreciation of "beauty." Art Experience Classroom: This area includes a "Group Painting Creation Area," a "Game Installation Area," a "Aesthetic Teaching Wall," and an "Art Puzzle Performance Area," among others.

Taichung Museum of Fine Arts Introduction

The Taichung City Museum of Fine Arts is located on the north side of the second floor of the Port District Art Center Exhibition Hall, with an area of approximately 340 square meters. Established in 1999 and officially opened in 2001, the museum aims to serve as a cultural base for documenting the development of art in Greater Taichung by collecting and recording works, audio-visual materials, and documents of both past and contemporary Taiwanese artists. Over the past 20 years, the museum has continuously collected and displayed relevant materials about artists in Greater Taichung, helping the public understand the context of art development in the area, as well as the relationships, careers, and achievements of the artists. Since 2020, the main space of the museum has been transformed into a children's art education space, with the following new areas: - Art Golden House: This section focuses on art-related books. Starting in 2020, it has incorporated the "Mobile Museum of Fine Arts" project (now renamed the "Art PaPaGO!" project) with art experience courses aimed at cultivating children's appreciation of beauty. - Art Experience Classroom: This area includes a "Group Painting Creation Area," "Game Installation Area," "Aesthetic Teaching Wall," and "Art Puzzle Performance Area," providing spaces for school and family use. - Picture Book Story House: This area has collected over 200 children's picture books through donations of new books and purchases of used books, available for reading by visiting families or for use in art experience courses. - In 2022, a "Resident Artist Works Display Area" was added, inviting registered artists to showcase selected works and conduct art experience courses to attract more local schools and families to visit. Transportation Methods:1. Bus - Take routes 111, 123, 128, 303, 304, 306, or 306 district bus, and get off at the Qingshui Junior High School Station or the Harbor Art Center Station. 2. Train - Take the coastal line train to Qingshui Station, then transfer to a taxi for about a 6-minute ride. 3. High-speed Rail - Please get off at Taichung Station and take a taxi for about a 40-minute ride. Alternatively, you can take the coastal line train from the Taichung Railway Station to Qingshui Station, then transfer to a taxi for about a 6-minute ride. 4. Airplane - Take a taxi from Taichung Airport, which will take about 15 minutes.


Parking Information:Vehicles can be parked for free at the parking lot of the Port Arts Center and in the surrounding parking spaces.
