The Taichung City Museum of Fine Arts is located on the north side of the second floor of the Art Center in the Port District, with an area of about 340 square meters. Established in 1999 and officially opened in 2001, the museum aims to become a cultural base for documenting the development of fine arts in the Greater Taichung area by collecting and recording works, audio-visual materials, and literature from both pioneering and contemporary Taiwanese artists. For over 20 years, the museum has continuously collected and exhibited relevant visual and text materials related to Greater Taichung artists, promoting public understanding of the development of fine arts in the region, as well as the mentorship relationships, artistic careers, and achievements of the artists. Beginning in 2020, the main space of the museum has been transformed into a children's art education space, with the following newly established areas: The Art Golden House: This area focuses on art-related books and, starting in 2020, has integrated the "Mobile Artist Archive" project (now renamed "Art PaPaGO!") with art experience courses, aiming to cultivate children's appreciation of "beauty" while visiting the museum. The "Taichung City Museum of Fine Arts" is located on the north side of the second floor of the Art Center Exhibition Hall in the Gang District, covering an area of approximately 340 square meters. Established in 1999 and officially opened in 2001, the museum aims to become a cultural base for recording the development of fine arts in the Greater Taichung area by collecting and documenting images, audio-visual materials, and literature of senior and contemporary Taiwanese artists. For over 20 years, the museum has continued to collect and display relevant materials related to Taichung fine artists, promoting public awareness of the development of fine arts in the Greater Taichung region, as well as the relationships, artistic careers, and achievements of the artists. Since 2020, the main space of the museum has transformed into a children's art education space, with new areas established as follows: Art Golden House: This area primarily houses art-related books and has combined the "Mobile Museum of Fine Arts" program (now renamed "Art PaPaGO!") with art experience courses since 2020, aiming to cultivate the aesthetic appreciation of visiting children. Art Experience Classroom: This area includes spaces for "Group Painting Creation," "Game Installation," "Aesthetic Teaching Wall," and "Art Puzzle Performance," providing facilities for visiting schools and families. Picture Book Story House: This area has collected over 200 children's picture books through donations of new books and purchases of used books, available for reading by families visiting the museum or as part of the art experience courses. Since 2022, a new "Resident Artist Exhibition Area" has been added, inviting registered artists to exhibit selected works and conduct art experience courses to attract more local schools and families to the museum for classes. Transportation Methods:1. Bus - Take bus routes 111, 123, 128, 303, 304, 306, or 306 district bus and get off at Qing Shui Junior High School Station or Port Art Center Station. 2. Train - Take the train via the coastal route to Qing Shui Station, then take a taxi for about 6 minutes to reach. 3. High-Speed Rail - Get off at Taichung Station and take a taxi for about 40 minutes to reach. Alternatively, at the New Wuri Station of Taiwan Railway, take the train via the coastal route to Qing Shui Station, then take a taxi for about 6 minutes to reach. 4. Airplane - Take a taxi from Taichung Airport for about 15 minutes to reach.


Parking Information:Vehicles can be parked for free at the parking lot of the Port Art Center and in the parking spaces around the park.
