Luliao Garment Business District Introduction
The entrance imagery of the Lu-liao Garment Business District, established in 2012, has brought a new atmosphere to the area. Located around Jinhua Street, Layi Street, and Jinyi Street in Shalu District, Taichung City, the history of the Lu-liao Garment Business District can be traced back to the early days of "shouldering and selling cloth." At that time, many merchants selling raw fabric did not have storefronts and would carry their goods on their shoulders while walking and calling out to customers. Gradually, some began to sew leftover fabric into children's shorts, commonly known as "Jiezi trousers." As business opportunities arose, garment factories began to flourish along Guangrong Street, Fu'an Street, Guangzheng Street, Fureng Street, and Chenggong East Street, eventually leading to the formation of the Lu-liao Garment Business District to the north of the factories. The Lu-liao Garment Business District, well-known in the Taichung area, has over two hundred shops and has a history of approximately 50 years since its establishment. It is a favorite place for many grandmothers to choose clothes, making it very suitable for families to visit. With its spacious shopping areas and friendly store owners, shopping is a relaxing experience where customers can easily try on and purchase clothes, along with many adorable children's outfits that are hard to resist. When tired from shopping, the whole family can enjoy delicious food nearby.
