Luliao Clothing Business District Introduction
Established in 2012, the entrance image of the Lu-Liao Garment District has brought a new atmosphere to the area. Located in the Shalu District of Taichung City, the Lu-Liao Garment District can trace its history back to the early days of "carrying cloth for sale," when many merchants selling raw fabric did not have storefronts. They would carry their goods on their shoulders and call out while walking. Gradually, some merchants began to stitch together leftover fabric into children's shorts, commonly known as “Jiezi pants.” This sparked business opportunities, leading to the establishment of garment factories along Guangrong Street, Fuan Street, Guangzheng Street, Furen Street, and Chenggong East Street, eventually forming the Lu-Liao Garment District north of these factories. The Lu-Liao Garment District, well-known in the Taichung area, has over two hundred shops. With a history of about 50 years, it is a favorite spot for many grandmothers to select clothes, making it very suitable for family visits. The vast shopping area, along with friendly store owners who feel like family, allows visitors to try on and purchase clothes in a relaxed manner, and there are many adorable children's clothing that are hard to resist. After a tiring shopping spree, the whole family can enjoy delicious food nearby.
