Qingshui Railway Station and Taian Station on the Old Mountain Line were built during the same period and were both rebuilt after being destroyed in the Great Earthquake of Showa year 10 (1935). The station has a similar column style known as "shrinked columns," but the exterior wall of Qingshui Station is decorated with fluted facing bricks, presenting a simple aesthetic. Due to the absence of towering buildings behind the railway, the visual landscape is quite vast. In the waiting room of the station, there are seating benches on both sides with smoothly curved cast iron frames, showcasing a unique charm that can only be seen in historic stations. The station was selected as one of the top ten historical buildings in Taichung City and was announced as a historic building in April 2004. Text source: Taichung City Cultural Assets Office

Qingshui Station Introduction

Qingshui Train Station and the old Shan Line Tai'an Station were built during the same period. Both were destroyed and rebuilt during the major earthquake in Showa 10 (1935 AD) during the Japanese occupation. The station features a portico with a bracketed column style, but the exterior wall of Qingshui Station is adorned with patterned bricks, presenting a sense of simplicity and beauty. Due to the absence of tall buildings behind the railway, the visual landscape is quite expansive. Inside the waiting room of the station, there are benches on both sides, with elegantly curving cast-iron frames that showcase a unique charm seldom seen in historical stations. The station was selected as one of the top ten historical buildings in Taichung City and was officially designated as a historical building in April 2004.
