Qingshui Railway Station and the old Shan-Line Tai'an Station were built during the same period and were reconstructed after being damaged in the Great Earthquake of 1935 during the Japanese occupation. Both feature a similar columnar porch style, but the exterior of Qingshui Station is adorned with groove-patterned face bricks, presenting a simple aesthetic. Due to the absence of tall buildings behind the railway, the visual landscape is quite expansive. Inside the waiting room of the station, there are benches on both sides, with smoothly flowing and beautifully designed cast-iron frames, a unique charm that can only be seen in historic stations. The station was selected as one of Taichung City's top ten historical buildings and was officially announced as a historical building in April 2004. Source: Taichung City Cultural Assets Office

Qingshui Station Introduction

Qingshui Railway Station and the Taian Station on the Old Mountain Line were constructed during the same period and were both rebuilt after being damaged in the Great Earthquake of Showa 10 (1935). The colonnade is designed with reduced columns, but the exterior walls of Qingshui Station are adorned with grooved bricks, presenting a simple beauty. Due to the absence of towering buildings behind the railway, the visual landscape is quite vast. Inside the station's waiting room, there are benches on both sides, with beautifully flowing curves made from cast iron, showcasing a unique charm that can only be seen in historic stations. The station was selected as one of the top ten historical buildings in Taichung City and was announced as a historical building in April 2004. Source: Taichung City Cultural Assets Department
