Qingshui Station Introduction
Qingshui Train Station and the old Shan Line Tai'an Station were built during the same period. Both were destroyed and rebuilt during the major earthquake in Showa 10 (1935 AD) during the Japanese occupation. The station features a portico with a bracketed column style, but the exterior wall of Qingshui Station is adorned with patterned bricks, presenting a sense of simplicity and beauty. Due to the absence of tall buildings behind the railway, the visual landscape is quite expansive. Inside the waiting room of the station, there are benches on both sides, with elegantly curving cast-iron frames that showcase a unique charm seldom seen in historical stations. The station was selected as one of the top ten historical buildings in Taichung City and was officially designated as a historical building in April 2004. Source: Taichung City Cultural Asset Office.
