A long time ago, there used to be a type of dwarf shrub that grew everywhere in this area. The leaves had a diameter of about ten to twenty centimeters, and if the skin accidentally touched the hairy surface of the leaves, an intense itch would occur, feeling as if it were burned by fire, making people extremely uncomfortable. Mild cases lasted for two days, while severe cases could take three to four days to heal. This plant is commonly known as "Bite Dog," which is why the local people referred to this mountainous area as "Bite Dog Pit."
