The old Taimu Station located in Houli was designated as a historic site by the Taichung City Government after the old mountain line of the Western Cross-Island Railway ceased operations on September 24, 1998. It has since become a railway cultural park, attracting more visitors after its closure and turning into a new tourist attraction. The pillars of the two platforms are made of iron tracks produced in the early 20th century. After its closure, the old Taimu Station concluded nearly 90 years of service since it opened in 1908.

Tai'an Railway Cultural Park Introduction

The Houli Tai'an Railway Cultural Park is insured for public liability. Even though the railway service has ceased, the Tai'an Station located at the foot of the mountain and the Hualiang Steel Bridge crossing the Dajia River have become popular spots for photography and wedding shoots. Local elders mentioned, "Before the railway was discontinued, there weren't many visitors, just local residents. After the discontinuation, a railway cultural park was established here along with a themed commercial district, attracting more crowds." In addition to the nostalgic atmosphere of the old railway, during autumn and winter, the maple leaves turn yellow and fall onto the tracks, creating a uniquely beautiful scene. (The Taichung City Government Tourism Bureau is insured for public liability.)
