Gaomei Wetlands Landscape Bridge Introduction

The Gaomei Wetlands Landscape Bridge spans 120 meters across the Qingshui Dapai and features a total bridge length of 265 meters and a width of 7.2 meters, with the two access paths totaling 132 meters. The bridge was designed to integrate the scenic features of the sunset, wetlands, and wind turbines, while also connecting to the local history of bamboo pole boats. The construction cost over 200 million NTD and took nearly two years to complete, creating a unique bridge type that is the first of its kind in Taiwan. To minimize the impact on the local ecological environment, the bridge does not have piers in the river and uses a low-insect-attracting lighting system. During construction, ecological monitoring was carried out, yielding positive results; in addition, wind tunnel tests confirmed that the bridge has good wind resistance, ensuring the structural safety of the bridge. The Gaomei Wetlands Landscape Bridge, along with a complete network of bicycle paths and recreational viewing spaces, is expected to further enhance the quality of tourism along the coastal area.
