Gaomei Wetlands Scenic Bridge Introduction

The Gaomei Wetlands Landscape Bridge spans the 120-meter-wide Qing Shui River, with a total length of 265 meters and a width of 7.2 meters for the double-arc curved deck, along with an additional 132 meters of access paths on both sides. The bridge was initially designed to integrate the features of sunsets, wetlands, and wind turbines, while also connecting the local history and culture of bamboo rafting. It cost over 200 million NTD and took nearly two years to construct, resulting in a unique bridge design not seen elsewhere in the country. To avoid impacting the local ecological environment, the bridge is not supported by piers in the river and features a low insect-attracting lighting system. Environmental monitoring was also conducted during construction, resulting in positive outcomes. Furthermore, wind tunnel tests confirmed that the bridge possesses excellent wind resistance, ensuring the safety of its structure. The Gaomei Wetlands Landscape Bridge, along with a comprehensive cycling network and recreational viewing spaces, is expected to further enhance the quality of tourism along the coastal area.
