Liren Elementary School Zhongxiao Building (Former Bao Public School Main Building) Introduction
It is hard to not be attracted by this special building when passing through Ximen Road. Bao Public School's main building was constructed in 1938. The school's name comes from the administrative district it is located in, which is called Baotang, so the school's name is pronounced as "Bao Public School" rather than "Baogong School," which many tourists often confuse. During the Japanese colonial period, Bao Public School was the largest and most modern public school in Tainan City. The architectural style is very unique, with the main building's floor plan in an L shape, featuring an angled corner that forms the central body, with the entrance and main staircase located here, while the ends house administrative spaces and classrooms. It is now known as the Zhongxiao Building of Lidong Elementary School, symbolizing the school spirit in the hearts of the staff and students. When passing through Ximen Road, be sure to stop and appreciate this beautiful and unique building.
