Heart of Love River Introduction
Located at the upstream of the Love River at the intersection of Bo'ai Road and Tongmeng Road in Kaohsiung, the Heart of Love River is composed of East Lake and West Lake, connected by a bridge that resembles a heart shape. Covering an area of 1.4 square kilometers, the Heart of Love River consists of two artificial flood storage lakes. The shallower East Lake serves as an ecological pool, designed to create a natural environment for fish and shrimp to inhabit and grow. The deeper West Lake not only functions for flood retention and ecology but also allows for boats to navigate and dock on the Love River. An aerial bridge connects the two lakes, forming a beautiful heart shape. As night falls, colorful lights project onto the lakeside water fountain and the bridge, while the white lattice railings reflect lovely heart-shaped patterns, resembling the most dazzling jewels on the Love River. The romantic atmosphere always attracts tourists and couples to stroll by the lakeside and linger reluctantly. The Heart of Love River is conveniently accessible, not only by roads and MRT but also by waterway boat tours and cycling paths, making it the best place to experience the beauty of night in Kaohsiung.
