National Museum of Science and Technology Introduction
Kaohsiung is a city with a highly developed heavy industry. In line with the local industry characteristics, the National Museum of Science and Technology, the first museum in Taiwan themed on applied sciences, is located in the Sanmin District of Kaohsiung City. Its main mission is to collect and research technological artifacts, showcase science-related themes, and promote science education. The museum covers a vast area and is divided into the Southern and Northern Halls. An outdoor planetarium stands as a symbol of the power of science and knowledge. Visitors can explore how science influences human evolution through themes such as space, mechanics, optoelectronics, and transportation. Using an EasyCard, guests can explore the Transportation Dream Hall and personally drive various modes of transport that span land, sea, and air. At the Space Exploration Hall, visitors can fly beyond Earth and explore the universe. The immersive theater and 3D large-screen cinema provide an engaging experience that awakens curiosity and knowledge about the unknown world. The National Museum of Science and Technology is a fun and educational environment suitable for families, housing numerous valuable exhibits, including a full-sized wooden model of the IDF Ching-kuo, Taiwan's first domestically made fighter jet, which is a treasured exhibit and a pride of Taiwan's aerospace industry.
