Water Works Park Introduction
Walking at the intersection of Wufu Road and Guanghua Road in Lingya District, a towering 38-meter giant colorful spherical structure catches the eyes of passing pedestrians, leaving them pleasantly surprised. The site of the Water Park originally featured a large water tank and water supply pipeline built in 1960, which has since been decommissioned. Due to its historical significance, the city government preserved the pipeline and painted the exterior of the water tank, which has a capacity of 3,800 tons, in rainbow colors. At night, it features light displays, becoming a beautiful landmark in Kaohsiung City. The park contains seven scenic artworks, with the ground adorned with curved imagery and fiber optic light strips connecting glass mosaics that present a map of Kaohsiung City along with various vibrant patterns. The lush park resembles a candy house during the day with its colorful and charming appearance, while the glamorous lighting at night showcases a different kind of elegance, transforming the once stark industrial area into a new artistic style.
