Water Works Park Introduction
Walking at the intersection of Wufu Road and Guanghua Road in Lingya District, the 38-meter tall giant colorful sphere catches the eye and surprises passersby. The Chunghwa Water Park covers an area of one hectare and was originally built in 1960 but has been abandoned. Due to its historical value, the city government has preserved the water supply pipelines and painted the exterior of the water tower, which has a capacity of 3,800 tons, in rainbow colors. At night, it is illuminated, becoming a beautiful landmark in Kaohsiung City. The park features seven landscape art pieces, and the ground is paved with curved imagery, connected by fiber optic light strips that present a map of Kaohsiung City and various colorful patterns. During the day, the lush park is as vibrant and lovely as a candy house, while the glamorous lights at night showcase a different kind of splendor, transforming the rugged industrial site into a new artistic style of softness.
