Modern Kaohsiung - R9 Central Park Station Introduction
Central Park Station is a stop on the Kaohsiung MRT's Red Line, located at the intersection of Wufu and Zhongshan Road. Due to its location in a vibrant and bustling area of Kaohsiung, the MRT Bureau specifically designed the station with the concept of "Modern Kaohsiung." The design was led by British architect Richard Rogers, featuring a large white canopy and lightweight yellow columns, creating a design imagery known as "Soaring." This white canopy not only adds a stylish atmosphere and structural beauty to Central Park Station, but through a special rainwater collection design, it guides rainwater into an internal stepped waterfall. Sunlight, flowing water, and green plants on the walls adorn the station, giving it a fresh and natural forest-like vibe that connects to Central Park. At night, the station is illuminated, making the dual columns of elevators and the waterfall extraordinarily luxurious, while the rain shelter appears translucent, as if it could soar with the wind, symbolizing the city's prosperity, rise, and growth.
