85 Sky Tower Introduction
Kaohsiung 85 Sky Tower, with a height of 378 meters including the antenna, consists of 85 floors above ground and 5 below ground. Completed in 1997 by the architectural team led by Lee Tsu-Yuan, it features unique Chinese elements in its design. The tall structure symbolizes reigning over the land, and its shoulders resembling clouds suggest soaring geese, exuding a majestic aura. It faces southeast to welcome visitors from the sky, overlooks the Taiwan Strait to the west, and rests near the Xinguang Pier to the north, surrounded by an intricate network of land transportation, representing the economic pulse of Kaohsiung City. Riding the beautiful and romantic starlight elevator, one can reach the 74th-floor observation deck in just 43 seconds, where the entire view of Kaohsiung City can be admired, overlooking the bustling Kaohsiung Port, where the ocean and sky blend beautifully, all within sight.
