85 Sky Tower Introduction
Kaohsiung 85 Sky Tower, with a total height of 378 meters including its antenna, has 85 floors above ground and 5 floors below ground. Completed in 1997 by architect Lee Tsu-Yuan's team, it incorporates unique Chinese elements in its design. The towering structure stands majestically, with sweeping clouds reminiscent of wild geese spreading their wings. The southeast faces the sky to welcome dignitaries, overlooking the Taiwan Strait to the west, while to the north it leans against the Shin Kong Pier, surrounded by the intricate land transportation network that serves as the economic lifeline of Kaohsiung City. Riding the romantic Starry Sky elevator, one can reach the observation deck on the 74th floor in just 43 seconds, taking in the panoramic view of the entire Kaohsiung City, witnessing the bustling Kaohsiung Port below, where the horizon blends beautifully with the sea.
