85 Sky Tower Introduction
The Kaohsiung 85 Building, with a total height (including the antenna) of 378 meters, has 85 floors above ground and 5 underground levels. Completed in 1997 by the architectural team led by Lee Tzu-yuan, it incorporates unique Chinese elements into its design. The building's height symbolizes a majestic presence, with its silhouette resembling that of a noble ruler, as it appears to reach towards the clouds like a wild goose spreading its wings. Facing southeast, it welcomes aerial guests, while to the west, it overlooks the Taiwan Strait, and to the north, it is flanked by the Shin Kong Pier, surrounded by a complex land transportation network that serves as the economic pulse of Kaohsiung City. A romantic ride on the stunning starlight elevator takes only 43 seconds to reach the 74th-floor observation deck, offering a panoramic view of the entire Kaohsiung City, showcasing the bustling Kaohsiung Port, where sea and sky blend beautifully, all within sight.
