Labor Park Introduction
Established in 2003, Labor Park, located at the intersection of Zhongshan Third Road and Minquan Road in Kaohsiung's Qianzhen District, is the only park in the country themed around labor. The park is shaded by lush trees and fragrant flowers, and the famous weekend flower market serves as an excellent spot for the public to relax and appreciate flowers as well as engage in planting activities. In addition to the Labor Recreation Center and Labor University, the park features a "Workers' Memorial Monument" to commemorate and mourn the laborers who lost their lives due to occupational hazards during the phase of economic development. Kaohsiung City is Taiwan's largest industrial city, and the significance of Labor Park and the "Workers' Memorial Monument" is to awaken public awareness regarding labor welfare and safety, transforming past painful experiences into future vigilance and knowledge, in pursuit of a safe working environment.
