Lide Baseball Stadium Introduction
Lide Baseball Stadium, located on Zhongyi Road in Kaohsiung City, was established during the Japanese colonial period. In 1974, it was renamed to commemorate the Lide Little League team winning the world championship at the 28th Little League World Series. With a long and rich history, it remains a passionate memory for baseball fans in southern Taiwan. The stadium has 9,500 seats and is the only stadium in Taiwan that has iron nets set up along all the foul lines in the infield, allowing spectators to enjoy a close-up view of the players. The outfield stands are equipped with canopies to provide shade and block rain. In preparation for the 2009 World Games, the city government renovated both the soft and hard facilities of the stadium to accommodate softball events, and combined the outfield stands with the scenic view of the Love River. There are also plans to renovate it into an international standard stadium, enhancing its multifunctional utility within the urban area.
