Lide Baseball Stadium Introduction
Located on Zhongyi Road in Kaohsiung City, Lide Baseball Stadium was established during the Japanese colonial period. In 1974, it was renamed to commemorate the Lide Little League team’s victory in the 28th Little League World Series. It has a long history and is a cherished memory for baseball fans in southern Taiwan. The stadium has 9,500 seats and is the only field in Taiwan with iron nets installed along all the infield sidelines, allowing spectators to watch the game up close with the stars. The outfield bleachers are covered to shield from sun and rain. To host the 2009 World Games and accommodate the softball events, the city government renovated the stadium’s facilities and integrated the outfield bleachers with the Love River landscape. There are also intentions to remodel it into an international standard stadium, enhancing the stadium's multifunctional role in the urban setting.
