Baolai Miaotong Temple Introduction
Miaotong Temple is one of the three major Buddhist temples in Liugui District, renowned for its flourishing incense offerings. It is close to the Baolai Hot Springs area and can be accessed via Provincial Highway 27 connecting to Provincial Highway 20, reaching it after crossing the Laonong River. Surrounded by mountains, the Laonong River winds through the valley; the temple's landscape is planned with solemnity, featuring lotus ponds, pavilions, and well-maintained flora, resembling a scene from "Pure Land." The orange roofs and white temple structure stand out against the backdrop of lush green mountains, making them visible from a distance. Due to its elevated location, it serves as the best vantage point for viewing the Laonong River. The temple was founded by Master Guangqin, who led all his disciples in developing this once barren land. Today, the temple's exterior is majestic, the halls are solemn, and the carefully tended gardens flourish, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a paradise on Earth, especially crowded with worshipers during holidays or the seventh month of the lunar calendar.
