Baolai Miaotong Temple Introduction
Miaotong Temple is one of the three major Buddhist temples in Liugui District, renowned for its flourishing incense offerings. It is located near the Baolai Hot Springs area and can be reached via Provincial Highway No. 27 connecting to Provincial Highway No. 20, after crossing the Laonong River. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the Laonong River winds through the valley; the temple's landscape is solemnly planned, featuring lotus ponds, pavilions, and neatly arranged foliage, resembling a scene from "the pure land of ultimate bliss." The orange roof and white temple structure stand out against the lush green mountains, making it easily visible from afar. Due to its elevated position, it offers the best vantage point for viewing the Laonong River. The temple was founded by Master Guangqin, who led his disciples to establish what was once a barren area. Today, the temple’s exterior is majestic, the halls are imposing, and the carefully tended gardens flourish, making the entire temple resemble a paradise on earth, attracting countless worshippers during holidays and the seventh lunar month.
